Time to Feed The Birds

Updated on September 25, 2013

Connecting With Beauty

The wonderful birds that manage to survive without any help

Chirping away their musical talent

Giving back in the world they live

It's nice to see them visit unexpectedly

Bringing their friends and family

Making my morning brighter

My day more pleasant

Lifting my spirits up

As they slowly make their way

To the bird feeder I just filled today

Each bird taking it's time

Circling and landing making sure it is safe

To find a little extra treat

That makes my day complete

      Hi dream-on

What a complement to the birds, and to you noticing / appreciating them. They are great contributors to showing the world of their hard work, self sufficiency, - and when we feed them they reward us with their beauty as well share withs us singing to the Glory of The Creator.

      Voted up.

Ah, thank you for feeding the beautiful winged creatures. They return so much pleasure! I'm just imagining again, the last four lines scene of your poem. Thank you for sharing in deed and word!

annart Hearing about your story is the next best thing to seeing the beautiful birds. I love all birds. What wonderful colors and their actions. Thanx for reading and sharing.

Great poem! I love watching the birds in the garden. It's great when they know they can trust someone to provide food and try to keep them safe. The best one I've ever seen is a hoopoe we saw in our garden in France - magnificent and totally absorbed in finding food in the ground. We watched it for an hour on 3 consecutive evenings - it ate, it sat, it flitted, it ate again, then flew off after an hour each time. Wonderful! Thanks for regenerating the memories.

Kathryn Stratford I am sure your parents can't wait to come back again. How can they resist having such a good time. Family so precious and loving. I am very happy to hear of your afternoon and you found a way to include those wonderful birds. Thanx for sharing with me.

I absolutely love birds. I don't have a bird feeder, but I enjoy watching the seagulls, pigeons and sparrows when I go on a walk.

My parents just dropped by for the first time since I have lived in Boston (I moved here October of last year), and we had so much fun! We went down the road to "Sullivan's", an adorable local fast food joint with only outdoor seating. We walked around the corner, right near Fort Independence, and had our lunch at a picnic table in a wooded area. We were enjoying the birds there while we ate and talked. My folks came back to my apartment and came upstairs for a bit. I even made my father some coffee. They left a little while ago, and I am still feeling spectacular from seeing them.

Thanks for sharing this pleasant poem with us, and have a wonderful day!

What a wonderful way to start my day-reading your poem as I look out my window and see Mr. and Mrs. Cardinal take advantage of their treats.

      Blessings to you,
