Time for Choosing

Pine needles sit~

Choices to make~

Thrice hit~

Never to be fake.

Dark grey bark~

Pondering way ahead~

Which one art?

Which way to be led?

While post peeled paint~

To smooth brown wood~

Prayerfully asking~

Where they stood.

Branches individual tongs~

Reaching up~

Meditatively listening~

Nothing to be heard~

Stagnant right or wrong!

Golden leaves a flutter~

Await the breeze to knock freed.

Despair a negative~

Is it them? Or is it me?

Reminiscent fall~

Hardly to be seen~

Hope is thought of~

Inward doth it bleed…

Raven perched~

With cocked head~

So much to select~

Forward, backward~

In the stead.

Flock caw-cawing~

Winter will enter~

Powered naught~

The body~

The spirit stilled~

And fettered.

Rippling water moving left~

Caring confusion made~

Yet nothing is a sure bet~

Never is it stayed.

Shadows wander~

At the lakes bed~

It is time for choosing~

For the future~

Is better left unread…

AHHH very perceptive Larry as well there was a culmination of issues here to express and the last line actually was in itself yet another issue I saw come up with some one else, as well as summing things up.---You really followed it…that’s amazing -who knows if as an artist we really end up with our stories expressed to relay to another?--Thank You for being wonderful you!

Lisa...Choices made without regret, or choices made for us..? I enjoyed this poem, which asks many questions, and is answered in the last line...Thank you, Larry
