Tim's Prayer: Growing up Without a Dad

Updated on September 15, 2012
Source

Mom said you would be my Daddy, and I want to believe it's true.

We even read it in the Bible; it's something I try and hold onto.

But I just wish I could touch you; look into your eyes and see you smile;

have you cheering at my baseball game; or take me fishing for a while.

I've got questions about things I don't know, and mom does the best she can.

But she really can't be an example on how to become a godly man.

So I was wondering Jesus, if you could find me a man who cares.

It is only for a short time - just until I get up there.

Well thanks for listening to me, and I hope that you're not mad.

It's just hard sometimes; growing up without a dad

      A Well Done Poem Prayer...with a message to send out a male role model on Earth...while looking to Jesus in heaven. Good Message!

      I am in tears reading this. I love the sweet prayer of a child's heart. I feel for all those beautiful children who have to experience life without a complete family structure. It is true, Jesus will fulfill the role as no other can do. Voted way up and shared.

      Thanks for the comments, the vote, and the share. This poem was born from when I told my son that Jesus would be his daddy. One day my son asked me to show him every verse in the Bible that says that. So I did, and he said, "I just wish I could see Him."

      Short and sweet and sad (somehow) but you have jot it down beautifully and sincerely. I trust that all those endearing words will be heard and that Tims' angels will be watching over him.
