Tips on Publishing Ebooks on Kindle
In the past year I've been getting monthly royalty checks from Kindle Amazon. To be perfectly honest the most I got was a little over $300.00 the least $120.00. Nevertheless, I am getting checks. I wish that I had more time and inspiration to double this money and then triple it as a marketing expert would advise. I believe I have the know how but lack time because I am not willing to give up my day career. Maybe one day I will do this. Oh, by the way I am not a great writer nor do I have great grammar skills, regardless, I love writing and write from my heart. I realise that some of you make money on the Hubpages and this is also great and sometimes better. As you know this also takes time.
The first book I published was called "Dealing with Depression Daily Devotions", The cover is awesome, and the content is not too bad but the format is horrible. I can't change it because I reformated my computer and lost everything. (You need to email yourself files or put them on something else). I could redo it all but again this takes time. I am sure I will get around to it some day. I soon became expert at formatting but lost my source who made covers and mine are just ok. So I wrote a few more devotional books, they are short and somewhat inspirational. http://www.amazon.com/C.-L.-Griffin/e/B004XWMW8O My point is many of you are so talented at writing that you could benefit from publishing on Kindle and make some extra money doing so.
In one of the devotionals I put an email address for people to reach me for prayer. I received one from a lady who said that she felt that my books were written specifically for her and that they helped her immensly. The Lord works in mysterious ways! Each time I publish one I put it for free for five days. This can help in marketing and is a way to get more reviews. About twice a month I put a few of them for free.
As of recent I made a blog offering my services for a small charge. I have published for someone a few months ago because they didn't know how and didn't want to learn how. For more information please go to: http://wanttopublishonkindle.blogspot.ca/ I can do it in twenty minutes.
Some marketing ideas that I've learned from research are: blogging, participating in Amazon discussions, Pinging your blog, facebook advertising, tweeting, discussions on the subject in forums, and posting links on all of the above.
In the future, my goals include writing a biography, and writing on some of my hobbies in which I will start on the Hubpages. My hobbies include cooking, writing, fishing, hunting, camping, and canoe trips.
I am sure many of you have ideas and just remember that you don't have to start off big. Maybe a collection of some short stories. Personally, I love to hold a book in my hand and read it and to be honest I don't even own a Kindle. Because of the technology that is available this is the easiest and best way for me to publish.
