The Bugs Got To Go

Updated on June 20, 2013

I Love Being Outside

My body roaming in the fresh air

Smelling something so wonderful I hope it will last

Walking across every blade of grass

l feel like I have been dipped in green

Then I see a flower

That has many different colors and so beautiful as it stands alone

As I walk closer I see a little frog doing his own thing

We cross paths but each go our own way

I reach into the dark rich soil and hold it my hand

How smooth and because of it's large volume

It becomes almost common place

Enjoying the trees every day because give me shade from the hot sun

I pick up a broken branch that is old and breaks into pieces easily

It has seen better days

Even the weeds have a chance to grow

Lifting a rock that has probably been in the same place

For more years than I have been on earth

Over in the corner are wild mushrooms growing big

There is so much to love

But one thing I can't stand is the bugs

They keep flying in any number of different directions at once

A true pest

All a little different and ugly I must say

I put on more bug spray to kep them away

My mind knows their out there and my brain is actively coming up with answers

Over there ,under here,on top of that lawn chair

I know there are reasons why God invented bugs

So we can appreciate life in it's true beauty

Then to aggrivated us just enough so we don't get lazy

I will tell you I am not the first to go into the house because the bugs are real bad

My wife is way ahead of me as she shuts the door in a hurry

Just a few more minutes as I absorb the peacefullness in each moment

Where dead silence is so welcomed

Then I got one more bite

O.k. I had enough

I thought the bugs would leave me alone

I was wrong they are strong

As they make their rounds and then a pit stop to eat

Tomorrow is another day

I still dream of a bug free zone

Where both my wife and I can relax

Until the sun disappears and we can't see a thing

Then it is time to go in

Yes, bugs are a real pain in the butt. Mosquito bites are the worst because they just keep on itching and itching even after they're scratched In fact, giving in and scratching them seems to only make them itch more.

On the other hand, the lightning bugs are quite lovely. And dragonflies are kind of beautiful, some of them. Butterflies, etc. . .

I agree the bugs definitely got to go. I too dream of a bug free zone. The walk was so pleasant until the bugs arrived. Smart wife going inside.
