To A Woman Pretty

Updated on July 2, 2016

To a woman pretty

From a man dragonly

To a womb fertile

From a creature sterile

To a God miles away

From a milestone heart though he pray

Elijah him swiftly

Make him not cut and bleed, fire quickly

Why lips you give

But no tongue to take his grieve

Like Aaron to Moses

Give him tongue in doses

Lest he drowns dead

In a torrent of words unsaid

He ought and must be the man

That rides the earth like the sun

Upon his reverie “boy” she calls

Upon her command “madam” he crawls
