To Be Locked In A Room

Updated on July 22, 2010

Get Me Out Of Here

The door shut behind me

It is locked what do I do?

Can I push it open by pressing my body weight against it with force

I don't want to break the door

Just push it open

Maybe breaking the lock

What would it cost to replace?

How long can I wait ?

When someone comes home

I will be let out

Then I can laugh and think

How funny it was

But for now

I just wait

There is no window to climb out

I never heard of a room without a window ?

I can yell and maybe someone will hear me

After yelling for awhile no one has come

What do I do next ?

Is there a phone in the room ?

I can call for help.

There is a phone

But it does not work

I am trying to get out of here and everything I try will not work

I will have to break the door down

I will find something to pry the door off of the hinges

No luck

I will try to wedge something inbetween the door and the hinge of the door at the bottom

There is a little space at the bottom of the door

I will take this metal table leg and keep prying the door open

It moves a little but not enough to open the door

I will kick the lock over and over again until it breaks

The lock is weakening slowly but the door will not open

What will I do ?

I have all the time in the world to think

I will charge the door and hit it with my shoulder over and over again

The door is cracking but still not enough to open

Even more puzzled than before

I have not got any closer to opening the door

I have tried over and over again

Nothing has worked

I have failed time after time

I am stuck in a room with no way out

There must be a way I haven't thought of yet

I have found an old table cloth

I will wrap it around the handle and pull in

I see the door starting to shake

A little more as I give it all I have

Pulling in and resting

Pulling in and resting

I brace my feet against the door frame and pull

Still not enough to get the door open

I turn to the closet and see if there is something else I can use

I have found an old saw

I can cut my way through

The saw doesn't work so I'm really s - - - - - - !

Just my luck

There is a ceiling panel high above

I can climb out

I take every chair and table to reach to the top

I hit and bang the ceiling panel loose

There are wires and a steel frame

I try to pull it down

I am trying to get underneath

I pull down and pull down

the metal frame twists enough for a little space

I climb once again to the top

I try to poke my head through

I can see an opening but only more two by fours to block my body from coming through

I fall as the table lets go from underneath my feet

i am no better off than I was a long time ago

Or am I ?

I will keep trying till something works

When I fell the table crashed into the wall

The plaster had broke

I can take the desk and hit the wall again and again

The pieces of plaster break little by little

Behind the plaster wall is insulation

Behind the insulation it is another hollow wall

I break through again inch by inch

I see an opening

I make it bigger

I soon can get my arm through

Then my leg

I kick as hard as I can

More of the wall comes down

Soon I can climb out of this room

That was locked with no way out

I learned here an important lesson

No matter how hard I tried to get out

Nothing seemed to work

But if I didn't keep trying

I would of never broken the wall

I could of never found a way

To climb out to freedom from the place I was in

I wonder if sometimes in life we have the same challanges

We have to search and keep trying no matter what are choices are

Then one day we will see light

Enough light to bring hope

Enough hope to get freedom

Now we can seek a new dream
