To Bed Late And Up Early

Updated on September 17, 2015

All I Can Do Right Is Yawn

My eyes are droopy

Have you seen that sad dog face ?

My thoughts are not clear

I am waiting for the fog to lift

I can not sleep

My mind is racing

I will give it a few hours

Then all will be well

I can't even get a good clean shave

Nothing seems to be going right

I opened the slider

Fresh air that will do the trick

My wife told me if you eat a dill pickle

It will wake up your mind

The combination of salt and dill

Alerts your senses

All we have is sweet pickles

For now I have to try a different trick

A little cold water ion my face

Just great

I poked myself in the eye

I need those mittens they put on babies hands

Sp they don't scratch themselves

Out the door we go

For a doctors appointment

Not for me

I am the healthy one

Be back later for a recap

I think I need a nap night cap

Only up from here

As my wife says

Are you ready ?

We have to go

I was up before her

You still haven't put your shoes on

She asks again

What time is it ?

Gypsy Rose Lee I average about five hours and sqeeze in an hour cat nap when I can. I love sleep so much. I have to drag myself out of bed. Once I'm up I'm o. k. Thanks for reading and commenting.

That is the one thing I enjoy the most. I create at night and I know that I don't have to worry about getting up early but usually I am up and about after 6 - 7 hours sleep.

Michael-Milec Has anyone ever died of boredom ? Are there not enough joys in our life to keep us busy ? I can easily entertain myself just like when I was a kid. Finding books to read and people to meet. I try to limit the stress and anxiety. It pops up constantly. Thank you for reading and sharing.

Practical family having normal day. We've been there before: do planing right, accepting as needed - then with a smile "Honey it is fine, we will make on time..." Life is beautiful. (It would be boring without unexpected, unwanted challenges- I suppose.)

adreamer99 Sometimes we get so busy our bodies take the toll. We have to plan and organize our day better to stay healthy and happy. If we continue to over work our bodies nothing good can happen. If the good happens we are too tired to enjoy it. MsDora There is no substitute for good old fashion sleep. Thank you both for reading and commenting. We all need reminders to slow down and enjoy life. Instead of burning the candle on both ends. Do a little and ask help from friends.

I've heard of all those little tricks to keep you awake when you should be awake, but nothing better than early to bed and early to rise. Your poem is a subtle reminder. Thanks!
