Quote from a Seer

"Society is like a family.

If all the members of the family

Become perfect,

Then the family will flow

With peace, light and harmony.

It is from individual progress,

That collective progress will come." - Sri Chinmoy

A Sonnet

Now peerless was Her form, this blue-eyed Dame,

From Venus’ Heart arose a speechless Love.

Such thrills within my dazed and burning frame,

I soared in bliss beyond the stars above.

Whence came this magic of my Heart’s desire?

Who wished to plant the seeds of awe inside?

My core is torrid like a man on fire,

This Beauty now I long to sit beside.

Empress Sweet, my beating Heart grows fonder.

Unlink the chains that’s fettered to my Soul.

Rise up to receive Your roaring thunder,

Unshackle all the bonds to reach my goal.

Your gratitude a dainty flame ahead,

To break my yoke and set me free instead.

I'm reminded of a line from a poet named Arnold, I believe..."what more could please the soul than to walk free and know no superior?"

      Peace and blessings, my friend.

Well written and suggesting we humans - incomplete man - are blinded by our desires and undesired, rather than the goddess of love, are the cause of our not reaching our "ultimate" earthly goal as all sacred writings reveals. However, it is human's destiny to remain in the "burning hell" of selfish desire until we have morphed back into the "man" the whole mind free of desires other than continuing to grow into one with "comprehending all things" abilities. Again, well done.

      I thank you, Bro.

I'm not interpreting, just expressing the needs or moods of the Soul. Again, as wonderful as your contribution is, I feel that my poetry is much softer. I use the Heart.

Still, like me, you're trying and the Divine notices all. Much Love.

It, as you already realize, was said in love, as I almost wrote after it.

      Love to you in return.

The cry for freedom is the cry of every healthy soul. Your repetition of this theme is very helpful.

Manatita, you make spiritual sensual. That is a very good thing. Our love should reach for such epitome.

      LOL, Eric.

Sri Chinmoy has done so many things, including lifting weights. However, ask him about weights and he starts talking about God. It is a wise way of catching others who would otherwise not be interested.

Too much 'God' chases people away, that's why the mystics make their poetry, like decorations or adornments on cakes. So many wives give Rumi's poetry to their husband's and vice versa. But some of the higher Love eventually rubs off or put another way, enters the Heart.

      Great that you noticed.

P.S. Sometimes when I dedicate, I have to tell some readers that it's not sensual Love and then they read again with an entirely new approach. Note how I capitalise certain words. It's a trick I use often.

Thank you for these beautiful words! I think we are all a family, too. And, I like to have family. It's so nice, and such a blessing, whether the family is small or big.
