To G: My Best Friend

Updated on November 27, 2011

A poem to the best friend I've ever had.

It sits next to the vintage vent

It’s lost its letter and lost its will

Dust covered and hate-laden

It is a forgotten G in the light

The vent, it only brings more,

More dust upon the lore

Of what it used to be

Of what it used to stand for

If there were a right

To right the wrongs of the G

It would stand straight up, right

And show its purpose and light

And if those A-F ever turn a head

Towards your dusty, faded head

You know that it’s just fine

That G is perfectly alright
