To Shovel Snow Or Just Ignore It Until It Goes Away

Updated on January 12, 2011

What Would You Do?

I did the right thing

I curled up in my blanket and pretended it doesn't exsist

I turned up the t.v. volume so I couldn't hear the snow and the wind against the window

There has to be a good movie on

As I flipped through the channels and If I seen anything that reminded me of winter

I quickly looked away as if the sun was blaring in my eyes

Ah peace at last

I found a  good movie and now I will eat some cookies and yogurt

Just relax because I am off from work today

No where to go

Nothing to do outside that is for sure

I hear a rumble louder and louder

I know it is a plow next door

I am going to think it is a big truck dumping loom

For a garden in the spring

How I love to see the crops grow

I hear the heat kick on

I pretend it is just the vacume running in the other room

As I look out the window and see all white

I think it is a huge picture of the white river rapids rushing down on a summer day

I get up to fix lunch and I see my gloves and hat tucked in the corner

I like to think they are relics from the past that are never used just displayed like artifacts

As I walk passed the hot cocoa mix on the counter I pretend it is dry protein packets

I bought but never liked to drink

All this to put off today and the snow that just won't go away

Soon I will have to face reality and go out in the fluffy white stuff

It looks like a tractor trailer truck of white cotton balls has tipped over

Then face the mountain of snow that has covered every place in it's path

All forty nine states and yes only one left to go

The month is January and then February will follow

It will not be long before the winter is finally at an end

Hi DREAM ON. I am in the one state the snow missed. Sunny Florida, come on down. That is why I live here. No snow. great hub. Stay in doors and have a glass of hot tea. Then think of the Spring.

Micky Dee April showers and May flowers.I like to have wishful thinking and hope the snow is all done earlier than we think.Kookoo88 I remember shoveling so many times and then you would come in the house and the plow would come around and push some of the snow back.Soon you would be back shoveling again.Nice to have your helpers. Thanks everyone.

I'd watch it until May. Give it to April or May!
