To The Beautiful Ones And To My Insecurity ~ A 100-word essay

Updated on March 25, 2012

You made me this way. I let you. Your sneers. Your leers. Your jeers. I allowed those in. You thought I wasn't good enough...I thought I wasn't good enough. You thought you were beautiful...I thought I was ugly. You were better. Perfect skin. Smaller waist. Bluer eyes. More dollar bills. You had it all. I thought I had nothing. You kept me down. I let you. No more. You no longer exist. Pack your bags. Catch that plane. You are no longer welcome around here. I've spent too much time trying to please you. Goodbye. Sayonara. Au Revoir. Get lost!

Why did I let you do it?

Chomping at my identity

Chewing, gnawing, making a meal

Without you, I wonder who I would be?

Why did I let you do it?

"No one likes you" you'd say

I wouldn't go to parties, have any fun

You rented space, I let you stay.

Why did I let you do it?

You said I wasn't pretty like the rest

Made me hide my face and body

Taking joy in my unhappiness.

Why did I let you do it?

I don't know but get out of my way

No longer will you doubt me

You're leaving town today!

By bus, by plane - it doesn't matter

The "No Vacancy" light is on

Pack your bags and hit the streets

My dependence on you is gone!

kj force, I do find that as I'm getting older, I don't have the patience for such petty people.

I don't care what Sally Sue wore to church and I could care less if you think she's gaining weight! Those kinds of people are a dime a dozen and hopefully they see the light as they get older and realize what's really important in life!

Thanks for your kind words! I love when you visit!

Great Hub and thought provoking words..there is an old adage that goes " sticks and stones will break my bones, but names wil never hurt me"..the only way the words hurt is if you give permission for them to do so !

Love yourself and run don't walk from anyone who would do this to another human being, regardless of their status or relationship. How true your words !!!!

Voted up! The way to go show the door to insecurity and stop doubting your own charm and talents and move on and don't delay. Powerfully put!

I love the flow of this, the repetition of key phrases, the message builds from beginning to end...excellent work my dear.

Correct me if I am wrong but I believe the proper vernacular for this comment would be, "You Go Girl!"

Should have named this one, "Amen." Your language here is certainly effective. Thanks.
