To the still thumping heart

Updated on May 2, 2017

Knock knock?
Who's there?
Heart who?
A heart that never stopped thumping.

Remember when you lost it all and I kept it together?
When your eyes flooded with rains and I cried the rivers?
I broke into pieces to feed you with blood.
These lungs that carry your breath have fed on my scars
Those times.
Those times of hurt when I stretched all my muscles and formed strings of hope
These strings that you slept on are stronger than before.
I am not spitting blood now....but an ocean of love.
Honey! Open the door it's me calling again.

Me who?
Me....... with a heart that never stopped thumping.
