Today, I Am #4

Updated on July 9, 2017

February 10, 2017

Today, I am a tightly wound coil,

Insecurity clenched in my crippling grip.

Any minute now,

I am poised to snap,

And the pain to which I am tightly bound,

Will find its release through the cracks in my rapidly rupturing metal armour,

No longer attacking just the beating heart within my own chest,

But also preying on the people that glow most within my darkness,

And I fail to articulate my desire to find a means to an end.

And all I can do is watch,

As my internal flame flashes,

And hope to god I'm remembered

As more than embers and ashes.

Definitely a more powerful poem in your series. Sometimes emotions are held to the edge of almost exploding. Great work.
