Tools And More Tools

Updated on February 21, 2012

A Hardware Store In My Basement

I really don't understand what I was trying to do

I got lossed in a thought and never recovered

I am not a handyman by no stretch of the imagination

I have only the tools to pretend

Mr. Fix it never came and Mr. Break it has moved in and is now a tennant for life

Yes I have more than my share of tools

I have the normal screw drivers and hammer times ten

When one tool should be enough

Some how I got another set and then another

From friends to family

Do I need them ?

Maybe during sometime in my life

Do I use them ?

Once and a blue moon

When was the last time you seen a blue moon?

Now everything is power

Electric drills can do everything that hand screwdrivers can do and so much better

Why save all the screw drivers ?

I also have a few extra hammers

They never where out

Then I have the old hand saws that nobody uses anymore

Replaced by a skill saw with speed and power

I have seen people draw pictures on the old saw blades and hang them on the wall

They look so cool

I can't draw

I tried once and it looked like caveman drawings ??

A decoration not a tool no more

The list goes on

I save jars of screws and nails for that magic moment

When I need one I have it

They are good

I picked that habit up from my father

Those old coffee cans and later the glass coffee jars that you can see right through

Anyone need a hand tool or nut, a washer, a screw, a bolt

Just incase

They are too good to throw out

They should be given away

A friend of mine brought them to the dump for scrap metal

To be recycled at least

Any ideas or any friends that have space in their cellar or basement that they don't need

Give me a call

I am no handyman

Just a man with boxes and boxes of things I never use

mary615 When it comes right down to it.I think we find other things more fun.So we start a project and have every intention on finishng it.Then out of the blue we are distracted by a woman of beauty. Then we lose our train of thought. So it is all the gorgeous women out theirs fault. Not the clueless husband who can't finish what we started.Sweet Thanx.

I love this Hub. It's true of so many handy men! All tools, and no action.

raciniwa The Japanese wouldn't have a room filled of tools and more. They would never spend the time in the collecting and saving.I think it is more an american tradition to want to hold onto the past and the present at the same time.It is never too late to learn.Thanx so much for reading and sharing.

Dim Flaxenwick Thanx for making my day, No takers on the tools so I decided to paint them all different colors and pretend I live in the Museum Of Science. Each tool is a masterpiece and they are old as when time began.I see them in a different light.Priceless and I even painted some of them glow in the dark colors.Thank God my wife never goes in the basement. Please don't tell her o.k.
