Travel In Back In Time....Please

Updated on July 29, 2017

Take me back in time when music had a purpose

Take me back in time when pain would hurt less

Take me back in time when playing was a responsibility

Take me back in time when drumming was my favorite hobby

Take me back in time when life seemed much more simple

Take me back in time when I was more nimble

Take me back in time where the cartoons were entertaining

Take me back in time when the world wasn't constantly complaining

Take me back in time when everyone wouldn't get so offended

Take me back in time when my wounds my mom fixed and mended

Take me back in time where days of summer felt like they would last forever

Take me back in time where time never seemed to matter

Take me back in time when our military were respected with honor

Take me back in time when people could protest in an respectful manner

I want travel back to when things were simple

I want to relive those days and nights that I remember today

I wish certain people where still in my life and bringing me joy

I won't stay there, just want to visit once and a while

To relive the memories that make me smile

That is what I always tell me niece and nephew Mary. They want to grow up so fast, I tell them don't rush it. Thank you for stopping by.

I think many wish for the simpler time of the past. Yet the funny thing is, it is us who have made life so complicated. We didn't know how good we had it.

      Or...

Perhaps now is the best time there will be but we are living in the past, thinking the best was long ago and missing out on today.

      It is all very philosophical.

The greater the chaos and enmity in the world the more the past seems attractive. Your memories are something many can relate to.

Very nice Poem. "Take me back in time when pain would hurt less"

This sentence means for me to forgive any pain I might have been responsible for by not loving and show gratitude for every cell that makes up my human body

Ryan, I am a bit like you. Starting to spend a liitle too much tine reflecting about the past. We cant. We need to experience more and create many more warm moments to memorize. We have TO DO, DO, DO.

      Happy Friendship Day, Ryan.

Ryan this is really beautiful. When we are young how we yearn to be "all grown up", thinking it will solve all of our problems. You can only be little once, and then you are stuck being an adult the rest of your life.

What I wouldn't give to, as you said, go back in time--not forever but once in a while.
