Treacherous Insolence

Updated on July 28, 2012

Garroted in deceit I wonder

Where in my path I went wrong

Each sentiment awaits your plunder

On a funeral pyre, I await your song

On dreams as high as the night sky

You took me and pushed

Shattered I fell, sole, soul, crushed

Heartbroken, the pieces let out a cry

My blood on your hands

You brush off and smile

My life thin, on strands

You sip wine from thy vile

Of Love, of divinity, of Life

Of Hopes in your unholy condolence

I dreamt, I drenched, I died of strife

Trapped in treacherous insolence

Holy Mackerel, Rahul! You've done it again. Your words are so resonant. You reach into the depths of the mind like no one I've ever read! How you relate to utter beauty and despicable rotting evil from one poem to the next is indefinable. You are a very complex, yet talented man. I would love to sit and talk with you someday!

Rahul, is there anything you can't do? You write with such simple phrases in this piece, and yet you can give them such complex meaning by counteracting with each previous and following line. Very well done! Pinned it, sharing it, and voted up :)

This is the true heart and essence of a lost soul, on his way down the drainage pipes of life, and taking radiant souls with him, but won't ever truly put out their effervescent luminous spiritual glow.

Powerful poetry Rahul, I only hope your mind levitate over these sorts of thoughts as only a scribe, and not in true reality.

Either way I wish even more success to you and all of your future endeavors my good friend, and welcome back!

Voted up & sharing with the hubpages community.

Rahul you remind me of Poe. As a writer of horror like Stephen King. My goodness this is so powerful and full of emotion. Hope the vampires don't come in my dreams. Creative, ingenious and fantastic. Passing this on.

This poem, Rahul, connects to suffering universally, without boundaries of time, place or person. You have created a picture that everyone alive can see and feel. I see the carelessness of treacherous insolence in gov't, the church, human rights, healthcare, in families, in the classroom and on the playground. It destroys the spirit of children, the poor, the sick and the elderly; the vulnerable. Bravo for a truthful, courageous, heartbreaking poem that deals with the reality of so many.

      Great words of wisdom Amy!

Its the scene of the world... really! From the smallest levels of the ecosystem to the highest levels of aristocracy and governance... When will we learn that... there will come a time... when we will be left with nothing but wealth... and no matter how much we try then... things won't go back

Thanks a lot for your wonderful guidance :)
