Tribute to A Sunflower (a Haiku)

Updated on July 7, 2015
Magic flower of Summer...
Magic flower of Summer...
Brighten up the day...
Brighten up the day...
Even in darkness, your light...
Even in darkness, your light...

Spinning marvel...twirls,

Smiling face of bright yellow...

Sunshine's brightest pearls.

Share a happy day,

You... stemmed beauties of delight...

As your shadows sway.

Enhance our low moods,

Spreader of happiness, light...

Uplifting... your sight.

As we await you...in hopes you stay...
As we await you...in hopes you stay...

Very pretty haiku, and the photos are beautiful too! I think sunflowers must be in their element right now and in a few more weeks their bounty of seeds will be ready for people and animals alike to harvest them.

I love sunflower seeds as a snack and on leafy salads. They're very nutritious. I know most creatures love them too, not just the birds. Possums, squirrels, and even raccoons love sunflower seeds.

      Voted up!

I can't help but smile when I see sunflowers. They're happy and are a great food source for birds. Smile on, my friend!
