Because many schools remain open with curriculums that do not properly or correctly feed the minds of All children regardless of race, this piece is a Salute to Shadow Teachers— the Ones who really Teach the children. Be encouraged to continue teaching, even when it is Not Popular with colleagues, administrators, or perpetrators who profess to only want the best for all children.

Your task is not an easy task as equality is still not everyone's reality.

A Shadow Teacher Salute

This poem is for You who know the Truth and refuse to submit to those Age Old Lies about the True History of Our Race.

Our Ancestors are very proud of You representing them in all your endeavors.

Our Ancestors know that you have withstood the ridicule and the scorn of many people who believed you were wasting your time, trying to keep their Dreams Alive.

I salute You for standing firm and proud while others were Afraid to stand with you…

I salute You for looking falsehood in the face and making the Seeds of Racism acknowledge that not all of us are Afraid of the White Shadows.

Our Ancestors, whose lives were a living hell when the creators of racism came out of their Devilish Shell, are thankful for descendants like You...

This poem is for You who recognize and don’t care that others think your ways and mannerism are Too Black for Them.

You are the True Warriors of our struggles who refuse to back down, refuse to be regulated into accepting the illusions that racism is dead, while it is constantly being fed.

Our Ancestors have guided you, molded you to Represent Them and you have done it well.

Because of People Like You, our Ancestors who are still with us in the Realm of the Spirit have a voice that is not afraid to tell their stories.

Stay strong in your beliefs, you have been chosen while many remain frozen.

Your unyielding Love for Our People makes some people uncomfortable…

More than your hair and clothes frightens and worries them.

More than all the books you have read put them on alert.

Being Black to You is an Honor and a Blessing.

You are considered dangerous and extreme because you see all Black people as descendants of Kings and Queens.

This Poem is for You because you go out in life not seeking rewards or fame…

You are unknown, you are nameless, you are male and female … Shadow Teachers for too many years Racism has said,'' You can Grow but not in Our Garden, You can Live but Not in Our World...

You are needed more than you know...
