Trust Him alone (christian poem)

Updated on March 3, 2015

Ephesians 1:11-12/1-6

Getting a yes,

Having enough to buy a shoe and a dress,

Winning and receiving,

Gaining and rarely losing,

In riches, favor and health;

Recognitions and trophies,

No cause for worries,

Oh how easy it is to trust when you have it all,

Is it even trusting? Is your hope still in Him resting?

For where will your hope be when your bridge turns into a wall?

Will your praises for Him still be ringing from your soul?

Or will trials create in you a giant bitter hole?

The Bible teaches us that God is our all in all!

It does not mean He ought to be a genie to answer our every selfish call

When Jesus becomes your Savior, He becomes your life

He becomes your Lord in peace and in strife;

In abundance and in pittance,

In praises and in persecution,

In pain and in relief;

He is our comfort! In our weakness, our strength,

His love and grace for us knows no end

When Jesus becomes your Lord,

He will enable you to endure,

And He promises to you a blessed future!

The world gives you nothing of value,

It can only give you pleasures that will never last,

But Jesus gives you everything;

Riches not just of silver and gold,

For an indescribable inheritance you shall take hold

Remember, my soul, Jesus is your all in all,

They can take the whole world with all its treasures untold,

But you will never suffer lack, you will not even lose an ounce of joy,

For this world is not your home nor are you still of its own!

For your hope is in Christ alone!

Rejoice always in the Lord!

Again, I say, rejoice!

Praise the King! Lift up your voice!

Soli Deo Gloria

      Uplifting for both, saints and sinners: "He will enable you to endure." With Jesus a search for 'happiness' stops, leaving life to be filled by blessing- full satisfaction .'

      Voted beautiful.

      "Where will your hope be when your bridge turns into a wall? Great question and gave us good reason to place it in God. Beautiful lines with a meaningful message.
