Trust your writing
Persistence, trust and devotion are themes in my life these days. Creativity and imagination are trying to work through me, they are working through me and I trust this, I trust creativity, I have faith in my imagination. They are persistent to want to work with me, work through me and I want the same things. I crave creativity and imagination to work through me, I can fell them flowing through my veins. I am devoted to the creativity and imagination.
I believe that curiosity is the secret. Curiosity is the truth and the way of creative living. Curiosity is the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end. Furthermore, curiosity is accessible to everyone. Passion can seem intimidatingly out of reach at times. But curiosity is a milder, quieter, more welcoming, and more democratic entity. The stakes of curiosity are also far lower than the stakes of passion. Passion makes you get divorced and sell all your possessions and shave your head and move to Nepal. Curiosity doesn't ask nearly so much of you. In fact, curiosity only ever asks one simple question: Is there anything you're interested in? ~ Elizabeth Gilbert
What am I interested in? Where do I begin? At the moment I am interested in different versions of one self. What would happen if I made a choice at different times of the day and then again the next day, is there a version of me making the same decision but at a different time in a different place, but then is there a third and forth version of me in another time and place that is making a completely different decision with an outcome that I actually want to happen? I have to shake my head to make sense of this idea. Sounds a little like the movie, Sliding Doors, a great movie where one decision turns into one end result, and another decision takes us on another journey. Layers upon layers, a dream within a dream within a dream.
This is what I'm interested in now and curiosity, creativity and imagination are having fun. It's fun to do research and fall into a new idea to get the creative juices flowing. With this new idea floating around, I'm still very much aware of my other writing projects that call out to me, reaching out to me, please grab a hold of me and let's dance. I am very much devoted to the creativity, and I will keep writing, working, because I trust that imagination and creativity is always trying to find me, work with me, even when I have drifted away for that brief moment. But here I am, right here on the page. Which brings me to the question; how do you keep in touch with creativity and imagination when you take a step back? What are you interested in?
Until next time, keep on typing. . . .
