There are theories that have been debated by Twilight fans. The plot from the Twilight tale has some readers speculate on mysterious character threads, and possible hidden sub plots. Most of these plot theories have nothing from the books to support them, but some fan theories could be considered a possible part of the Twilight saga.

All four installments provoked mystery and speculation to what would happen next.

Edward and Bella Share a Special Telepathic Connection

It is believed by some readers that Bella and Edward have a supernatural connection. New Moon has been cited to support this. It is sometimes speculated that Bella is actually hearing Edward’s voice, and that Edward and Bella in fact share a telepathic bond. Stephanie Meyers has discounted this theory stating that it was Bella’s knowledge of their love that caused her to hear his voice. Bella indeed says this is the reason in chapter 24 of New Moon, “Our love had spoken,” she realizes. However, some fans take note that, although Bella provoked scenarios to hear his voice, Edward’s voice actually would warn Bella when she was in danger. Even when Bella didn’t realize she was in danger as in chapter chapter 11, Edward’s voice instructs Bella to let Jacob calm down, she didn’t know Jacob was a werewolf and that anger provoked a transformation, yet Edward’s voice warned her. Does Edward and Bella share a special supernatural connection manifested by their love? It is up to the reader to decide.

Bella is Part Werewolf

The famous and most popular Twilight theory is that Bella is part Werewolf. Vampire powers including Alice’s, go haywire when it comes to werewolves, so that is why so many vampires’ gifts are affected by Bella. Edward can’t read her mind and Renesmee’s future couldn’t be seen. It is explained in Breaking Dawn that Bella is a shield, but some Twilight fans think there may be another possibility, that werewolf DNA actually exist in Bella’s ancestry or she may have a werewolf relative. This theory supposedly explains why Jacob was so intensely attracted to Bella, and for that matter, why Jacob imprinted on Renesmee at all.

Fans have guessed that Bella and Edward share a supernatural connection that was manifested by their love.

Embry and Jacob are Half-Brothers

It is explained in Eclipse by Edward that the Werewolf pack is unsure of who Embry’s father is, but the werewolves do know, that it was either Quill Ateara IV, Joshua Uley or Billy Black, because of the werewolf gene Embry carries. This plot twist has inspired fan theories as to who Embry’s father is, even that Harry Clearwater was the father, not Billy, Quill or Joshua. The most popular theory is that Billy Black is Embry’s father, and Jacob and Embry are half-brothers. The theory suggest that Jacob and Embry share a special werewolf bond because of their blood relation and that is why Embry took Jacob leaving the pack in Breaking Dawn the hardest. Stephanie Meyers has not answered the question of Embry’s paternity. The answer to who Embry’s father is or if he has a half brother remains a mystery.

It is believed by some fans that Embry and Jacob are half-brothers. Twilight does not explain who Embry's father is? The answer to who Embry's father is, or if Jacob is his half brother.. Remains unknown!

Bella Imagined Everything

In many tales in literature there exist a theory that the protagonist imagined everything. Twilight is no exception, in that some fans think the plot is a figment of the protagonist’s imagination. The theory goes that Bella is actually a married housewife. She escapes into her imagination, and created a magical world of vampires and Edward was probably the guy she had a crush on in high school. Some fans point out that the second book debunks this theory, because New Moon include sad events in the narrative.

The Volturi is Breeding Humans

It is revealed throughout the Twilight books that the Volturi go to great lengths to collect vampires with gifts. This royal vampire family also recruits humans with powers into their coven. The fan theory is that the Volturi are breeding humans to eventually transform gifted humans into vampires. Readers speculate that the Volturi coerce, and influence the thoughts of some humans to marry, and may even have a “Tracking vampire” for this purpose. There is even supposedly the possibility that Bella’s parents were brought together by vampires, which is why Renee and Charlie’s relationship didn’t last. It has also been suggested that other world vampire covens are influencing the romantic relationships of humans. Are the vampires in Twilight playing matchmaker?

Fans beleive the Volturi are manipulating and attempting to control humans. It is not a stretch to asume the Volturi plot and manipulate the world around them, most likely to keep their secret or secure their plans to recruit powerful vampires.

Bella is a Succubus

Bella being a mythological creature is a theory that some Twilight fans speculate is possible in the world of Twilight. It has been suggested by fans that Bella is a Succubus. She is liked by werewolves, and the male population of Forks. Bella is a unique person and has a tantalizing scent to vampires. The novels don’t mention the existence of Succubus, but it has been pointed out that magical creatures other than vampires exist in the Twilight universe.

Bella Is Not Human

A Twilight theory that has taken many forms is that Bella is not human. Bella is a supernatural being or magical creature that vampires or werewolves do not know exist. This was inspired by the line in Midnight Sun from Edward’s point of view. He looks at Bella bewildered and wonders “Was she really even human? She looked human,” because Bella said she could smell blood. In New Moon Edward mentions to Victoria in the battle that Seth in his werewolf form could be the creature she was thinking, inspiring the fan theory that other magical creatures exist in the Twilight world. The theory that Bella is a magical creature, goes far to explain her reaction to vampires, as Jane put it, and her ability to shield vampire powers, and how she was able to become pregnant. It has been pointed out by some readers that if Bella wasn’t human she would not have been able to become a vampire. It is up to the fans to decide if Bella is a magical creature.

Even though the Twilight series has been concluded, fans still have theories to what the future will bring for the characters after the last installment Breaking Dawn.

Victoria and Laurent

One fan theory is that Victoria cheated on James with Laurent. There is nothing in the books to support this theory. Never the less some fans think it’s possible Victoria and Laurent were in a secret relationship and that is why Victoria began the newborn army right after Laurent died. Victoria possibly could have felt wounded by the deaths of James and Laurent.

Bella is a Descendent of Vampires

One fan theory is that Bella is a descendent of a vampire. Bella Swan is so powerful as a vampire, because she is a descendent of other vampires. This theory could only mean that Bella would have to also be the descent of a vampire hybrid. Nothing in the novel suggest this, but Forks does seem a to attract supernatural creatures.

Renesmee and Nahuel are going to Fall in Love

At the end of Breaking dawn Edward tells Bella that Jacob will have competition in the future. Fans theorize that Renesmee will fall in love and even marry Nahuel. Even though Jacob imprinted on Renesmee fans believe Nahuel and Renesmee will be soul mates, especially since they are both vampire hybrids. To fans it is not an unlikely twist for Renesmee, Jacob, Nahuel (since the love triangle occurred in Eclipse), that a love triangle will manifest again, this time between the three of them. Twifans also take note that Jacob explained that the imprinting connection means that the wolf “will be anything she needs,” implying that imprinting may not mean a romantic relationship. Once again it will be up to the reader if they are teaming Jacob or teaming Nahuel. Are Renesmee and Jacob soul Mates? Only Stephanie Meyers can answer that.

The world of Twilight has enticed readers with the supernatural and endearing characters. New theories may emerge! It is yet to be seen if fans hit the nail spot on with some observations. Until then the Twilight world will continue to fascinate those seeking a tale of magic.
