Twinkle Starlight (poem)

Updated on September 3, 2014

Twinkle starlight child of my memory

Born of a tear which would not let me go

Until a kiss shared ignited your glow

Across a dream which heaven brought to me

Twinkle starlight so lovers’ hearts may know

That there still shines a realm of what might be

Which drifts upon a satin covered sea

Mid all the dreams which heaven can bestow

And though you are surrounded by the night

A jealous moon may mask the gift you bear

And clouds of doubt reap tears upon the sky

Twinkle starlight fountain of all delight

I close my eyes to know that you are there

What teardrop brought to life will never die

Beautiful; this took me away to the stars.
