Two Dark Moons

Updated on August 1, 2016

Have You Been There ?

In a world so different than what we know and love

Where every day it rains

Your body stays achy with a cold chill

There are no skies

Only a white fog that traps us

No different than an animal that can't get away

Suffering in excruciating pain

Madness can easy follow

Unbalanced and quirky

Unsafe and jumpy

Desperately seeking

As uncontrollable urges plague us

We see other people from a distance

Their sadness is easily recognized

Worn not for comfort or style

It's heavy like armor that once was used to protect

Is only bulky, heavy out of date

As we heat up from the inside

Only to find a misery that has slipped inside

Our eyes are slightly shut and begging for more sleep

We stay victims

As the real thief and abuser

Disappears into the dark corners

Home of fear and blind terror

Waiting to strike

This time with more vengeance and anger

Let the aching head pound

For it will soon tell you it's own story

One different than the one told

Where life has it's sand traps and lost balls

It is the same life of beautiful greens and impossible shots

That we witness and scream from our lungs

Did you see that shot

As we watch in awe

What does happen

When all the conditions are right

Perfect in an imperfect world

We can walk with our back slouched and our head buried between our shoulders

At the same time we can pick up any cell phone and check the time

Joining the human race in every endeavor

Sharing our joys as well as our sorrows

Learning the difference

Keeping them apart

Even though they seem to be welded together

We make the deciding factor

To be carried away in glory or to be dragged against our will

I will always choose

An abundance of energy and love

That pumps faster than air from any air hose

Ready to ride with the wind on my back

Pushing me along faster than I think I can go

Rising up from the deepest hole

All of us together

Can get up early

Calming the craziness down

When things feel like they are ripping apart

They only need to be fixed

Mended and blended

For as many times as it takes

How are you feeling ?

If the answer nothing on the good side of life

Then we have to talk

If it is like a platter of good food being served and you brought your appetite

What are you waiting for ?

I'm not getting any younger

Let your innovation and creativity glow

For it will lead you to a new direction

From there you will see

Where you need to go

Nellieanna May you be carried away to a far distant land. A place so beautiful where all good things develop. Then as the weekend opens may these good things follow you around to create the most wonderful feelings that we all can see. This is my weekend wish for you and your happiness is so incredible we think it's edible. Thank you so much.

Nellieanna Just think we can only see half the bad. (Lol) This way the good can dominate all the time every day. Thank you for sharing.

So we share having only half our sight. Yes, kids can be unkind and they do lack empathy for other kids with serious problems. Been there.

I've nearly always felt that the 'sight' I've been given beyond what the eyes bring in was the higher value, like what ancients referred to as being a ‘seer’ - meaning see-er. And I’m so thankful for the ability to navigate pretty successfully in the world of 2-sighted people! haha. But I’ve never known ay other ‘view’ of things.

I so empathize with your huge challenge driving in snow you must face so many days of the year.

      Take care, my friend. Hugs.

Nellieanna At age eleven I lost most of my sight in my left eye. I was a kid and kids do stupid things and those stupid things have consequences. I have paid the price ever since then. Instead of cursing myself for life I decided to think how blessed was I to see with one eye and not see with the other. Because we do so much on sight theses days I am reminded numerous ways every day I can't do what normal people do growing up. My depth perception non exsistent. Things that look so close are feet away. The wintertime is the worst. The average person can judge the middle of the road easily focusing in on the road. I use the center white line as a guide. When the snow covers the ground and now I have no guide. I would use the stars but there action time is very slow. The story continues on ... Out of time .So I decided to go off to sleep. Thank you for sharing and Caring.

haha. Sometimes it almost seems we 'see' more clearly when asleep when all our fears and limitations are not clawing at our conscious thoughts.

Good to have two seeing eyes. From birth I've had only one.

I also was born with weak bones, so that whenever I fell, I broke bones.

Without even realizing it, though, - not knowing how it is to have depth perception and to be able to actually see how far away that chair in my path is or - (when I learned to drive at age 40) - how far that curb is or that other car is, I somehow developed another 'sense' of some sort which allows me to compensate for not having what two eyes provide most people. It isn't a conscious effort, beginning from birth as it had to, but it does require effort and constant awareness and application of facts I do know about distances, plus a kind of automatic constant measuring the 2D world I see with one eye to make those calculations so that I can safely walk around without tripping and falling all the time.

My conclusion is that we all and each have powers of perception and abilities to draw on, whatever our limitations, which also 'come with the territory'. It does seem like sometimes many people waste their untapped powers or maybe just fail to recognize them or don't do the work it takes to use them and to overcome limitations.

Nellieanna I have come to realize we have two eyes one to see what the other one misses. (Lol) I think sometimes I miss more than I see. Then I have come to my senses I am suppose to do that while I am sleeping. Have a great morning. (shells)

      Good. I applaud that!

Just 'do' you and know that others 'do' themselves. If you have the chance to influence, -- and you DO that by writing of your own views & experiences, then let them speak for your perspective and be content that you're one less person spinning his wheels wasting this blessing called life and one more person fully savoring life and being as good an example as you can be! You do explain the good you see and feel and it's in 'their' hands what they do about it.

Of course we'd like to see everyone just living and enjoying life, but we're not given that control or authority over others' and their responses to things, - plus, we don't know the exact influences which may be bringing them down or discouraging them at the precise moment. Just as we occasionally feel frustrated and 'down' ourselves but it's only temporary, so may 'they' be going through such a moment in their lives. We do have the ability to offer them comfort, which they may or may not be up to accepting or using constructively, but we have NO ability to control or change how they feel right then - or in the future. That is one of our own lessons to keep learning.

Nellieanna My life continues to mystify my senses. I try to listen to people talk and see their opinions and actions and what road they travel. I see my own path as a road less traveled. I am not in a hurry and I and trying to observe nature and animals in their natural habitat.I feel my most energy when I am alone and listening to the world. Thoughts come into my mind spontaneously like when someone opens a blind to let the sunshine in. I take time trying to explain while other people don't care. They love the modern society with all it's man made objects. I find a deeper and longer lasting pleasure not in any of these things. So I let people enjoy all the pleasures they see and feel. To me these are cheap imitations or substitutes for avoiding real life. It's like having someone else read the alphabet for you. It can never be the same. It takes me longer and I make mistakes along the way. It's o.k. I did it my way. Thank you for raising wonderful questions and answers to a world that does not stop for anybody. Have a goodnight sleep and maybe the world will be glowing with kindness and love.

Michael, what you’ve said is probably one of the most important and mature realizations there is for humans and that realizjng that is that we are all products of our own experiences and accumulation of all parts of ourselves - each person individually and subjectively just to that person. Even our personal five senses and other abilities to sense things coming into us from the outside are all individual, not at all identical to others;. Along with our accumulation of individual life experiences, (not two being identical), our individual views and abilities-to-respond to all that comes into us daly is filtered by each of our massive individual, subjective factors.

This is exactly why I try to give others benefit of doubt about how they respond to various things and how they behave as a result. There is NO WAY one person can KNOW all those factors in another, in order to judge how they ‘should’ or can respond to new experiences.

      YOU have figured it out!

Yes, we access what we consciously need as we respond to life’s situations, but ALL OF IT is stored and is subconsciously affecting what our responses are. We may think we’re just objectively analyzing a situation, so we feel we’re on solid ground and must be ‘right’, but ever we ourselves are not aware that our ‘objectivity’ is no more than the conscious part of all our subjective subconscious experiences, - even our health at that exact moment affects our analysis of things ad how we respond.

People who are master-manipulators are experts at manipulating these truths. They can convince people that even the most absurd propositions are right and good by playing on people’s tendency to think they’re thinking rationally while the manipulator is drawing on their subconscious factors, including fear and even hatred. Politicians are expert manipulators.

Someone once ave me a way to understand the word ‘responsiblity’. It is ones ability-to-respond and that depends on what we can do, considering everything that’s working on us from all the things we are - from the moment of our birth to that exact moment.

I’m glad you allow me try to share some of the things I’ve accummulated from a long, very real and sometimes flawed life which has deposited a lot of perspectives on my shoreline. I don’t demand or expect to be agreed with unless it ‘rings true’ to someone’s own analysis and personal sorting out of truths. I offer it simply for consideration - and seldom offer it where I can’t see it would be welcome or considered - though in poetry it gets a ‘free ride’ sometimes. haha. But even there, it has to be considered and welcome or it’s non-existent. I’m OK with that. My responsibility is to see to my own responses. No one died and left me in charge, as they used to say! But I’ve been blessed with exposure to some people who have lit a candle I could see, so if I can do that for someone else, it’s very gratifying. Makes me feel I have a right to my share of the oxygen.

But here’s the beauty of sharing ideas: I really get a lot from your very good responses, too. I see in you a very good mind with an astonishing ability and desire to expand and grow. It’s really awesome, since you’ve sort of shared that it’s not always been an easy path.

Nellieanna I totally agree. What about the thoughts in our mind that are hidden. Memories when we were children. Things that we are not conscious of and they drive us to do more all from an inner desire. I have read that we never forget anything. Every second of every day is recorded in our brain and only the necessary information needed comes forward. I also believe through hypnosis we can bypass our brains security system to uncover a deeper sense of reality. I love your details in each explanation. They cover so many subjects it is hard to explore your thoughts fully here. You always give me passion and new insights to an old thought. It means more than my words can explain.(shells)

Were you watching the Ryder Cup?

Yes, this is different from your usual words, but I've read you when you've examined the 'other viewpoint'. What impresses me is that you can give it an honest look, sparing none of its friction, its gloom, its choice of the negative side --- and then you come through it remembering that life IS a choice and that pleasant things occupy the same space as unpleasant ones! You know that it's always a choice of which to focus on.

You credit that to dreaming, but think on this: focusing on negative things is choosing to dream on nightmarish possibles. Most of humans' views ARE our own perceptions and interpretations. Call it dreaming but it's the same, whichever view we choose. The only really 'objective' things are part of the scenario and the props provided, maybe clouds, maybe sunshine, but how people respond to those is ALL subjective response or choices by each person. Whichever way one chooses build on that, so that the pessimist builds on his/her own pessimism and the optimist builds on his/her own optimism, so that each draws to him/herself what is expected and what is being perceived and internalized.

Annart Life is really very funny. If you listen to people some say the day is dragging it is so slow and boring. The same day nothing has changed I find so creative and lightning fast where all my thoughts are bumper to bumper and I only have this tiny little window to do what I dream and carry out any thoughts in a instant before they disappear. Have a great afternoon. Thank you for sharing.

Annart As I turn to all my happiest, greatest and strongest emotions to guide me along I have to include all my other feelings that make me uncomfortable and uneasy. The sad and the unhappy experiences that we all face daily. Slowly ever so slowly they become less and less important like arthritis it hurts like heck and we continue on treating it but knowing it will never go away. My focus is on all the things in life, wherever they can be found that makes us feel like Superman or Superwoman or maybe a touch of both. When this happens everything else is on the back burner where we celebrate on stage feeling the power of any number of the worlds greatest performers. This is our life. Make it happen. Make it happy. Thank you for all your support and encouragement. Happy Sunday.

As Jodah says, this is different from your norm and it's brilliant!

Shanmarie Some of the symptoms in the beginning of the poem sure sound like the flu. Being down and out. Then the end rising above it all. It is one of life's biggest struggles.
