Uncompromised (Poem)

Updated on September 17, 2013

Heavenly Father,

I don’t want my knowing You

To be merely mental ascension,

But, the result of my heart

Having made a genuine transition,

I don’t want to live a subconscious life,

Permissive to slip and slide,

I would rather live sober, and

conscious, and in Your will abide,

I realize that I can’t manufacture

This lifestyle on my own,

I acknowledge,

The Comforter in my heart

So, I know I am not alone,

For to will is of You, and

How to do is too,

Lord, You are my only hope

To make it all the way through,

This is why I yield my heart to You,

To rule and to reign,

With blessed assurance

Which gives me faith unfeigned.

So the trick is to keep inviting him in.

Once is enough! Lord Jesus, I accept You as my Savior and Lord! I believe that You died for my sins. He never leaves nor forsakes you after that, because He is a friend that sticks closer than any brother, there is no trick. It is a matter of faith, trusting in God. He that comes to God must believe that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Diligence is a relentless determination regardless of opposition. We walk by faith and not by sight.
