They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Some of the most beautiful people I know and the most beautiful objects I see, to the first glance of many, seem ugly or frightening. I see their beauty.
What is beauty anyway?
After all, a diamond is just a rock; and isn't a butterfly just an ugly bug with pretty wings?
Smell of gas. Cigars.
Filthy shirt on oil-stained pants.
Bootprints in snow. Gone.
Purest color white.
Soft curves. Smooth and cool to touch.
Cold as glacial ice.
Thick skin painted with tattoos.
She melts in your arms.
Six legs. Antennae.
Long probocscis. Compound eyes.
Lovely stained glass wings.
