Uncovered

By Tony DeLorger © 2011

Tempted by the thrills of life,

my rudimentary senses rife,

opened wide to manifest joy,

my self-effacing view destroy.

When truth resides in thoughts not held,

and sensual life has all to tell,

those lost to lies and dreams repel,

the quality of purpose sell.

Of life envisage all to be,

the balanced experience benefit see,

our will to service truth and be,

the core of justice been.

For without the thoughts of mind alone,

our human needs are power prone,

given strength in fate are sewn,

the seeds of self-destruction.

Senses are connections given,

to learn, relate and experience driven,

our lives a puzzle of pieces living,

in superficial ways.

Before our end with purpose we,

our goals are far from senses been,

and core the stock of meaning seen,

alive in death, released.

With opened eyes, not regret, despise,

the colour of our compromise,

the mixing of our lives arise,

the glory of it all.

Your choice for images to accompany your poetry is great. However, I don't mean photos are better than your composition.
