Under a Spell of Acceptance

By Tony DeLorger © 2011

I am removed from the mundane,

by choice immersed in the creative spirit,

a slave to the stream of creativity

that surges through my being endlessly, fervently.

I cannot withdraw from this light,

no matter how it destroys who I’ve been,

and emerge as a lone entity,

unbridled within the epiphanies of discovery.

My view is layered deeply in my consciousness,

deep enough to touch my core profoundly,

awakening dreams and nightmares alike,

to the forefront of possibility.

This is a madness chosen, segregation expected,

a parting of the centre from the chaos of human struggle.

I am not alone but for the touch of gentle strangers and blood,

who take me for my words and believe.

Derelict my duty to human conformity,

societal expectations and the view of sanity.

Instead I exist left of centre touching only the periphery,

enough to remain invisible, to the eyes of normal.

I cannot take the squander and recklessness of self-involvement,

the abandon of ideals that hold me here.

I cannot pledge allegiance to dogmas life by destruction,

and I will not be the carrion of ascending egos.

I remain true to me, my soul a reflection of light,

from which I express my being, singular and enlivened.

I imbibe my demons, the waste of my past life,

and rid myself of all that holds my light to task.

I bask in my freedom.

@Tony DeLorger: The ethereal feel of the poetic style is enchanting and achieves its objective, Tony! I found it almost subliminal as to the combination of pictures and words.

In your usage of those graphic pictorial accompanyments you challenge the reader to reread this poem. In do so I found that the flow of your words was complimentary and I was entertained by this piece, my friend.

Your poetry is as impressive as your writing style. Well worth the time spent for the unique entertainment value provided! Well Done as it proves you to be a poet as well as a writer, Tony! Voted Up and All the Right Buttons were pushed here, Sir!

      Regards Mike(Aka Professor M!)
