Unknown (Poetry by GalaxyRat)

Updated on June 25, 2017

On this grave no name is etched,

Just the date of birth and the date of death.

Weeds have grown up and around,

and the wind rarely makes a sound.

People say it's the grave of 'unknown',

Although that's not the name on the stone.

They say he was apart of the Air Force,

They say she was a jockey with a horse,

People don't have to have names, some can be nameless,

Don't have to be famous,

To be known.

Who do you think "unknown" is?

Your poem was really good. Could you take a look at my story and tell me what you think. I'm only just getting started. It's called Br//oken.

Yep. I love going to old graveyards and looking at stones. It brings back memories.

This was poignant. I love walking through old cemeteries and reading the headstones. One of the saddest things to see is an untended, forgotten grave with weeds overgrown.
