In Love We Fell by BenWritings and Bellawritter23

Updated on June 23, 2011

I stand in the middle layer of heaven and hell

Wondering why my true love said farewell

I shout to the heavens above and ask why oh why?

I scream to the inferno below take me now, I cry

Cast into the abyss, I fell

Goodbye was her only wish

Her wish, my command became

My red-feathered wings to break

Now here I float, I die, I wait

On my knees I fall to thee

Wondering if he will come back to me

How do I ask if he isn’t around ?

Alone he left me on the ground

Closer to hell than to heaven

Only till midnight my clock strock eleven

To think of her return

Into my vision or my life

Is but only torment of self

I need not think it twice

To think it twice

Will bring my soon demise

I cannot bare this loss of mine

For I will be calling upon hells shrine

The rhythm of my heart

is joining with the flames

the pulsing of my hatred

is pounding out her name

I start to float beneth the dirt

From flesh and bone to ash convert

Will he ever think of me like before

I only wished for his love, I adore

adoration, infatuation

obsession, division

fine lines must be drawn

between a smile and demise

From love, I fell

and now I crawl

I'm dead within her eyes

To ash I turned

with love I learned

My death will tell

that hard I fell

In love my war

To hell I swore

I'd never bleed again

This was my vow back then

I'd never let the bonds

Of lust transform to weakness

My crimson wings are open

But the wind will not caress them

No time permitted

My life omitted

Two loves now gone

From dusk till dawn.

Bella, you and I have been writing tandem poems for some time now, at least I have done so in response to your many beautiful hubs that you ultimately needed for your book, which I understand...It's a wonderful thing to have your writing as an inspiration...I miss doing that..

I can hear this perfect duet put to music and it is divine. I hadn't seen Ben in awhile at epi's site and I got worried when I saw the title. I'm very glad all is well. This reminded me of something I've been wanting to do and that is sign on as a Ben follower! I already follow you, Bella.

I could feel the changing emotion from one person to the other as if they verse were being exchanged upon the stage in a live performance. I sense the real life elements of it in that so often love is what we want but also what we turn away from thinking the other person is no longer of the same mind. The verse captures the complexity and the urgency of the participants...both of you did some really nice work here. WB

Applause. Ovation. That looked like it could have been more difficult than you two poets let on.

And BenWriting a 'free-for-all' Hub could really be something.

As I stand in purgatory's confusion

      I can never be content

For wherever it is that I am

It is to another I pray to be sent

      The middle of the road

      Slows a beating heart

      With but a burning paradise

      That is pulling me apart
