Up And Away We Go

Updated on March 25, 2012

Nice Weather Awakens Our Power

See the sun shining

We slowly climb out of our shell

One that has dragged us down all winter

Trapped in our own home because of the weather

Now we know better

Reaching up and feeling the fresh air tickle our lungs like a feather

Expressing great gratitude for the life we lead

Now the warmth that we seek doesn't have to be man made from a turn of a dial

It can be radiant and bright

Heating our skin ever so lightly like a heaing pad with no wires

Our inner spirit rises

I must see this for himself

What is all this talk about ?

Where people are leaving early and working out

Coming home later and later

Opening all the windows to let the cool breeze flow

Eliminating germs that give us all the creeps

Walking with brisk steps and humming too

Talking about how nice it is out

Don't people get tired of all this?

One person starts and soon many people are under its spell

Trading in their heavy jackets for shorts and a tank top

The nerve of such a thing

Having no need for gloves and a hat

Put away the ice scrapers and the rock salt

Pack the boots

Birds are dropping in to pay a visit

The Tulips are raising their heads

Even an occasional bug is on call

The grass has changed color from a dismal grey to a yellowish green

Listen I hear the tree frogs doing their thing

All the wonderful noises of spring

Opening the doors in our homes

To welcome a new feeling

One that is so special and inviting

I can never get enough

Bring on happiness

Bring on the fun

Fresh fruit like peaches and plums and don't forget that juicy watermelon

My body and mind our in sinc

Don't forget the sun glasses and drink lots of water is a must

Each day has been extended so we can stay out late

Bring on the smells of nature and I am one happy man

To enjoy everything as long as I can

Such a lovely , upbuilding, happy hub.

Spring is here, where I live too. I saw many tiny white lambs on my way to the Docs´ this morning.

I should have had a camera with me.

Thank you for a beautiful hub.

We had winter? Did I blink and miss it? What pisses me off is my windshield is all splattered with bug guts. I hate that! My son thinks it's great. He likes to talk about the guts, size of bug and...get this...speed and impact - what makes the bug explode or splat? Oye.

Aw-w-w - It is a lovely time of year! Even our drought has ended and the lakes are back to normal! We may not need water rationing after all!

I love the tender greens of new leaves and the lawn is like a green carpet already. The winds of March are blowing vigorously. Old leaves and stuff blowing away and trees rippling in the motion of the breeze. - it's all so wonderful! Thank you for your lovely poem!

I vote it up and beautiful! Your joy is infectious!
