Rising Star Review

Rising Star is about the fantasy idea of our celestial brothers and sisters roaming the Earth as humanoids. The Lores of Lyra: Rising Star is centered around two sisters, Miriam and Annabell. Miriam is a quiet and mild mannered teen who has lived a sheltered life with a silver spoon in her mouth. Annabel is an orphaned free spirited firecracker who speaks her mind. Separated at birth, but brought together by a prophecy that fated to split them from the beginning, they team up with Joshua - the son of the man that saved the twin's lives.

Annabel meets Joshua who takes her on a quest to find the Rising Star to help save Astron from the black holes that had begun to plague their world. Annabel and Joshua faces star lions, black holes, and each other as they go to find the Rising Star. Every day that passes by Miriam has horrible and painful impalpable attacks that leaves her weak with bruises and scratches from her attacks.

Annabel and Miriam team up with Joshua and handsome newcomer, Blake, to search for the Rising Star. With an unexpected twist, the story concludes with a cliff hanger that'll leave you wanting more - Shattered Star.

xxmajaine's Author Questionaire:

1. What is the most demeaning thing said about you as a writer?

-The most demeaning thing said about me as a writer, in all the time I’ve been on wattpad, was about my personality as a writer, rather than my writing itself. Some one claimed I was trying to dictate how my fans should act to be ‘proper’ fans. This was unbelievable offending and demeaning, since that has never and will never be something I would do. I appreciate every one of the people who use time on my stories in any kind.

2. Do you prefer reading first, second or third point of view?

- It depends on the story and the writer. At the time, I prefer reading third, because that’s what I write myself and to better my own writings style, I need to study others. But there really isn’t an over all rule to that.

3. Do you have a writing ritual you do before, during, or after you write?

-I have developed a habit of writing chapter by chapter outlines before even starting to write. This is simply a chart with small notes of what I need to have in my story to establish that red thread throughout the whole book. I tend to skim it over to let my imagination run free around that one thing I need to have within the chapter.

4. What are your three recommended Wattpad story must reads?

-Emmiie’s ‘Tainted Blood – Suicidal Dreams’ – Additionally her ‘The Not So Secret Life Of Helena Callahan’ and ‘Love Me Dead’ books that are set in the same universe, is also recommended greatly.

Germansam’s ‘Cupid’ Series is great too.

VJDunraven’s ‘The Silver Eyed Prince’ is also a truly great book.

5. What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?

-I was surprised to find that my own worst fear was a deadringer for my villain in the books. It hadn’t been on purpose when I wrote it, but I found that I described them exactly the same. Down to last adjective.

6. Do you have any advice for anyone who wants to write on Wattpad, but may be scared to do so?

-First of all, if you’re scared to share your writing, perhaps make an account and start befriending other writers, if you talk to them about your writing and offer your own help with theirs, they will most likely check out anything of yours. Wattpad is a nice community with a little for everyone, so don’t be scared. If it’s not your scheme, you can always take it down (:

7. What books have most influenced your life most?

-Besides my own works, which of course have shaped my life to what it is now, it would actually be Stephanie Meyers ‘Twilight’. She started a Vampire fascination inside me, for months I read on my phone, searching one vampire related book, to another, for in the end to finally come across the Wattpad app.

8. When are you going to write your autobiography?

-My life would without become a bestseller, it has everything from drama, heartbreak, loss, tough decissions and love. I’ve been wanting to write it for a while. Though I must admit that it will probably take a long while before I actually get to it.

9. Who designed the covers?

-Alice_Iceflower on wattpad designed and made the covers for me. She was absolutely amazing, with me giving her nothing at all, she managed to hit spot on with what I wanted. You should all check her out, because besides being an awesome cover artist, she’s also a very talented writer.

10. How did you come up with the title?

-Rising Star was self-explanatory, and with the series title I had help from a group of wonderful girls on wattpad, who supported me throughout it all.

11. Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?

-I’m one of those very awkward and sad people who is annoying when they say that they don’t have a favorite author or a favorite book. I read so much that it’s very hard to chose. I’ve read works on wattpad who was more amazing than anything else. If I however had to pick, it would be Abi Kirk. A writer who has left wattpad and gone to the publishing world. She’s an amazing fantasy writer, who inspired me tons in my own writing experience. It particularly stroke me how she managed to create so much, in so little time.

12. Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?

- That one is easy. I found Wattpad and wanted to give it a try.

13. Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?

- I always find it hard to make the words sound right, due to english being my second language, there is an obvious language barrier, which I need to overcome. Whenever I write I have google translate and different thesaurus encyclopedias open too.

14. Is there a message in Rising Star that you want your readers to grasp?

- Except that anything can happen, I don’t think so.

15. When and why did you begin writing?

- I began writing shortly after my twentieth birthday where I joined wattpad. Since then I’ve had periods with more or less writing in general.
