Upon The Moon (poem)

Updated on February 12, 2014

A lover cast his hopes upon the moon

For everything is sight was magic strewn

And with his dream this moment to commune

A memory which nothing could impugn

-

And so he took his longing by the hand

As all imagination went as planned

All scents and sounds fell under his command

Perfection beyond will to understand

-

They found a place to wonder at the moon

Where they could take in blessing heaven planned

The stars and dream now followed some command

No cloud no shrouds no feelings to impugn

-

And so he gripped his chances by the hand

As at her feet his heart’s desires were strewn

With endless silence would his soul commune

A darkness which he couldn’t understand

-

Then came response which tears would not impugn

As with the face of death they both commune

And in some lonely ditch was body strewn

A lover cast his hopes upon the moon

Music only

Gruesome ending. I wasn't expecting that, Martin.

      Sad poem, Martin.

      Death is the great conquer.

Music video is perfect for this poem.

Sad surprise ending. That's what comes of mooning around.
