Voters' Remorse

Updated on October 28, 2014

By: Wayne Brown

You want to be President someday, but for now will run for Senator

Saying you have our best interest in mind; want to make us all a winner

Your only desire in life is to just be elected and this nation to serve

But then you gain the office and seem to lose your nerve

You say you will fight for us, all of us, the citizens of this great land

You say you are one of us, that you identify, that you can understand

Then once you are elected, your agenda is no longer the same

You start working for yourself and others; you don’ know our name

You say we should never worry when you vote for all this change

You say just wait, there’s no harm, it’s all part of the game

Then we watch as you trade and swap and give our rights away

But all you can do is say don’t worry, it will be for a brighter day

You say we need to protect ourselves against those who would do us harm

Then you show up at some official function with a terrorist at your arm

You tell us not to worry; this is just a part of the difficult negotiation

But come on guy, a fool could see that you’re selling out our nation

You say we are a sorry lot, arrogant, too proud, and not worthy of appreciation

Then you bow down and kiss the hand of terrorists who bring harm to our nation

We are getting very weary, tired of the lies, just kind of fed up with your list

It becoming more and more apparent that you’re nothing but a Communist.

You are correct Tony...we have to make this mid-term election count so that we can deadlock the Congress then everything comes to his doorsteps for 2012. WB

@SR1...Yes Ken, you are certainly correct. America has been soft since Vietnam. We want to rationalize evil out of our world and think if we ignore it, it will go away. Bush was right to go after the terrorists rather than wait here to fight. In the meantime, fight them allowed the thinking to slip to the liberal side at the polls. What is going on inside America today is far more dangerous to our continued extistence that even the terrorism. Liberalism and conservative hatred blinds far too many to that awareness. Krushchev said that they would bury us and never fire a shot and Americans could not understand what kind of fool statement that was. We thought that way because we did not understand Communism and still as a majority have not taken the time to learn. Thus ignorance eventually becomes our downfall which is ironic in light of all the educational opportunites this public has. Of course, in today's America, far too much of it is simply selective propaganda. Thanks for your good comments. WB

A man has to stand up what he believes in and sometimes going to jail makes sense, your not alone brother. One can't just sit and watch their country coming apart all around them from a dictatorship. Look what happened in the French Revolution, the same could happen in America. It is very sad times and World Power is being bantered about like it's at our doorstep.

Good job. You called it like it really exists. I wonder if those who voted for him realize this?
