  • During the Middle Ages it was believed that birds chose their mates on St. Valentine's Day. This somehow evolved to the idea that boys and girls would do the same.
  • In the U. S. the average amount spent on Valentine's gifts and cards is $102.50. Making the total amount spent in one year reaching over $14 billion.

  • The first Valentine's Day candy box was invented in the late 1800's by Richard Cadbury.

      I don't know where you come up with the great quotes all the time but the Valentine quotes are excellent.I love all the foreign language words for I love you.

      I wonder if I would've had better luck in my first marriage if I don't let a bird do the choosing? :-)
