A Verse of Passion in the Dark

Updated on July 14, 2011

Oft i stand there

as she be

waiting for me

doing as she pleases

and a host of ineligible things come to mind

words discarded not for lack of truth

but for the venue, inappropo

or worse still she isn't in the mood

to hear the murmmers of my heart

put to verse or not to strict rhyme

but not with beginning or end

and i dare not write it down

to wit

perchance she read it

being embarrassed for my candor

her modesty my every thought coalesces to provide

but in the dark

another thought beckons all the greater

at times time permits

and the verse once only words in the wind

muttered or not behind my eyes

become a play acted out in the night.

Beautifully put, not jagged or frosty, but sensual and thoughtful. Great in fact! Cheers.

Everything jagged is smooth somewhere and frost is only jagged or cold in the winter of opposition and adversity. But thank you.
