Vicious Colors of The Coloring Box

Updated on July 22, 2017

I have been writing poetry, fiction and short stories for many years and have completed a book of poems. I also enjoy comedy writing.

Colors
Colors

I can’t stand it anymore, fighting with all these colors

White cuts out holes in a mask and walks with a hanging rope for hours

Yellow is armed with sword and pointy stars yelling they are the next super power

Black stands back and puts up posters when a similar color gets taken down

But runs to the jewellery store the next day to buy the most expensive chain and gown

Greys are flying all around abducting anyone living out in the wild

Then dashing into where the four great rivers meet to hand the toys to their child

Whites say blacks are violent, yet most murders are committed by them

But they control the media, so they paint a different picture and call for blacks to hang

Yellow keeps plaguing the Earth with plastic food

But because they are so big, whites stay numb, to act loud would be so rude

White blocks many colors who have Muslim faith

But yet yellow and black curse white but still fight to enter their pearly gate

Can’t you see these colors are stark mad?

Don’t you see that the choices they make are fabricated, just a fad?

Here comes black again, with his ten tonne chain blinging

Sad excuse for a brother, but we are lucky many good ones are awake and winning

But….wait a minute, what the heck is this, a rainbow club?

Now this combination of colors are just not for me bub.

Red is always silent, not one to be seen

Green is nowhere to be found, I wonder if they have ever been?

Look, hope is not lost, here comes the sun

Rising and melting away the colorful scum

Look, they are no more

The colors have vanquished, melted to the floor

I have to go look a next set of crayons for sure

So I can continue my colorful story a little more.

Thanks ll for you comments. Billy, as Eric said, figuring out colors is just way above my grade too. Thanks Ryan for your input.

I've lived a long time. I'm beginning to think it's impossible for colors to be forgotten in this country. I hope I'm wrong, but I continue to see proof of my theory.

Another powerful poem my friend. Great point here as well. Never judge based on color. Great work.

Cool. Never to be blind to the wonderful colors. Figuring it out is above my pay grade.
