Viva La Vida: The Music and Chords of Life

Updated on August 13, 2013

Ode to joy Mike Strickland

Why we should celebrate music

The notes of life,joyous resound

They herald bliss, felicity

They bounce, out of bound, with

engaging vivacity

1000 Singing Ode to Joy

Soothing sounds of melodies

Cascade in one accord

Beautiful blends of resonance

Appear not in discord.

Source

Lovely notes, their song of hope

Ever so inspiring;

They motivate, they resuscitate,

Never, not once, tiring.

Ode to Joy played on wine glasses!

Glad messages, these notes bring

Never are they cynical:

They vary much in their great mirth

Strive never to be typical.

Source

Lively notes, their expressive strain

Will always be discerned;

Emotions great, they communicate,

Effusive flame will burn.

The Muppets Ode to Joy - For Acapella Lovers!

Notes of life, worries great allay

Quenching flames of fear;

Bringing now, sweet memories forth

Everything that we hold dear.

Source

Notes of great spirit, notes of life,

A gift from Above

And these notes will always be

The greatest notes of love.

Ode to joy - a piano delight

Nurturing notes of splendor

Teach us every day to give;

Yet the best thing that these notes do;

They teach us how to live.

      Now this is the kind of music I like! I can't stand rock and some of this modern stuff. Beautiful poem, and beautiful music. I enjoyed the videos, too.

      voted UP, etc. and will share.

      Beethoven was always my favorite. His Moonlight Sonata is a classic.

      midget38 - Outstanding! Everything about this hub makes it so complete. "Ode to Joy" is my favorite. My thesis was on Beethoven and his pictures are all over my house. I was in heaven sitting on the 3rd row center last yr at the symphony as they performed with chorus the entire 9th. Oh my!

      I love this verse of your poem: "Notes of great spirit, notes of life,

      A gift from Above

      And these notes will always be

      The greatest notes of love." Thank you my friend for all you have given to me. Will share this.

      Hi Midge! I love what you've done with "Ode to Joy!" You've found lovely videos with such variety... I am so impressed with the 1,000 singing - I saw that some time ago, Japan wasn't it? Your poem is very uplifting - love it. The guy with the wine glasses is quite talented, and the Muppets are delightful. :)

      A very interesting and different hub. Voted up, useful, interesting and awesome!

      Great poem Michelle, love the final line 'they teach us how to live', sometimes music can get right to the core of your being - I love that feeling.
