WHAT A FOOL I WAS

Updated on October 26, 2010

What a fool I was~

I heard your story~

Like others stories~

 In the past~

You’d think I learned my lesson~

 On the last.

What a fool I was~

You said woe is me~

My children~

My car~

Your story came~

Tugging on my heart strings~

Longer than a yard.

What a fool I was~

As I watched you with others~

I thought you ~

Held an honor to your word~

It did not cross my mind~

 You were a dishonest curd.

What a fool I was~

I did not hesitate except~

 For some conditions~

I sent you the money~

Speedy~

Even though I myself was not~

 In a great position.

What a fool I was~

The day came when it should~

Had been paid back~

Than more days came~

Than it only crept up on me~

What your character lacked.

What a fool I was~

More days have come and gone~

From days to weeks~

Weeks to months~

As I have asked for my reimbursement~

Gone by with the spring~

 Than summer, to now fall~

No matter how much I ask~

I see from you nothing at all.

What a fool I was~

I heard your story~

Like others stories~

 In the past~

You’d think I learned my lesson~

 On the last.

One has to love a Lisa Luv! It's a law or should be! Debts will eventually be paid. Gifts are eventually returned.

Could I borrow a few bucks?

It hurts to be played. To be betrayed. To be fooled. Oh, I've been there. Your poem is great. Thanks.

Been there. Those with love in their hearts are targets for those who do not, but don't for a minute mystake kindness for weakness, they always do.
