Where is His Word? (Poem)

Updated on February 17, 2016

Where is God's Word?

(God has given us His word, what are we doing with it?)

~”Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.”-Matthew 24:35~

~”All scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”-2 Timothy 3:16-17

~ “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper [in the thing] whereto I sent it.”~Isaiah 55:11

~“This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”-Joshua 1:8

Numbers 15:15; Deuteronomy 4:2

Where is His Word?

Is it read and made understood?

Or is it obeyed to our own accord?

Where is His Word?

Is it in our hands?

Or is it thrown away for the words of man?

Where is His Word?

Is it in our hearts?

Or is it close, from us, to depart?

Where is His Word?

Is it honored and obeyed?

Or is it corrupted to fit our ways?

Where is His Word?

Is it read for souls to be saved?

Or is it now just something for sale?

Where is His Word?

Is it the Church’s foundation and highest authority?

Or is it turning into a mere reference?

The Church will surely stray into sinful stupidity

Where is His Word?

Is it where we stand?

Or is it lost in our lives, if so, we shall surely pay the just price;

we shall suffer ignorance and that from our own arrogance.

God's Word is final, unchanging perfection;

gives joy in suffering, sound direction,

devours sin, holy conviction,

exalts His majesty and all that He is,

magnifies our impurity and cleanses us from within,

toil and labor, pray night and day,

plead in humility, submit to the Spirit's way,

Spit it out from your mouth, embrace it instead,

"be doers and not hearers," the Holy word said,

for the Lord, yes for the Lord,

for His glory and His will be done,

Obey for His glory, for the Lord calls us daughters and sons,

our breath and sustenance, our purpose and desire,

Where is His word? is it in a cold and dry land? or is it inside an all consuming fire?.

Psalm 1:1-3
Psalm 1:1-3

“ Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish [ought] from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.”- Deuteronomy 4:2

~"God has not hidden His truth from us, but its meaning is not always instantly clear. It demands hard work. That's why in 1 Timothy 5:17 it says that, "Those elders who labor in the Word and doctrine are worth of double honor," because it's hard work. That's why God has given teachers to the church so that we can work hard and understanding God's Word correctly, instructing people in the Scriptures through persistent, conscientious labor in the Word."~

Christians ought to read, trust and obey God’s Word. If it’s not in God’s word then it will never be in God’s Word, no matter how much intellect or theories we pointlessly use to make it happen. When God says it is then surely it is! When God says no then it is forever a no, when God says yes then have faith for it is surely a yes. What God calls sin is sin, and it will not be changed no matter how much our culture change. We must understand and believe that WE CANNOT ADD OR TAKE AWAY FROM HIS WORD. If we are not obeying His word then we are disobeying it. If we corrupt God’s Word by turning it into our own then we are sinning. We do not reform God’s church just so it can be “socially” or “culturally” accepted.

His Word ought to be our highest and final authority; our foundation. The Bible is the burning bush of today. This is how God chose to communicate with us in our times, and He has given no other book, no other man, nothing. There are so many Biblical books that explains the Word of God but we may not think for a second that it is greater than the Word of God, that it is a “supplement” or a “support” of the Word of God. His word needs no such thing. It’s just that God is gracious that He enables Christians to be used by Him in aiding us to understand His Word as it is. Now if Christian books no longer talks about or is not purely grounded on God’s Word; or even goes against or questions His Word, then it is not a book worth reading.

~”Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.”-John 6:68

~"These things I have spoken to you so that you may be kept from stumbling.”-John 16:1

Soli Deo Gloria
