WORD PLAYER: One

Updated on May 28, 2012

Intro

I’m not here to sweep

You off of your feet

Nor charm you

With wit

Funny bones are xylophones

Heart strings are harp strings

Sunsets are drum sets

This is a gift

I give with no frills

To give you the chills

As you open it

My instrument is

Water under a bridge

Resounds from an orchestra pit

I am beyond bygones

Past closed fist

My palms clench

..

A ball point pen

The wind is a violin

‘Tho I’m not a musician

I am a Word Player

I like this poem. The metaphors used in this poem are great comparisons.
