Walking in the Spring Rains

Updated on March 22, 2017

I'm a writer, a poet, a dreamer. Born and raised in New York City. I live in the suburbs of Riga, Latvia. I have a wonderful cat named Sid.

I can feel it on the breeze,

soon spring will be knocking on the door.

It will bring the rains -

that seem magic to me.

Soft spring rains,

refreshing and delightful,

bringing fresh new feelings

and rejuvenating my soul.

Love to walk in the spring rains,

feeling the drops falling about me,

it brings a feeling so divine,

so very, very fine.

Walking in the spring rains,

my love and me,

just enjoying that feeling -

that everything is becoming fresh and clean.

Holding hands and kissing,

as the soft rains fall,

feeling so filled with joy,

another spring, another reason to rejoice.

Love to be out and about,

when the spring rains come,

with them they bring a new season

and flowers that will bloom in May.

Walking in the spring rains,

no other feeling like it,

making a promise -

of new wonders to come.

Just walking in the spring rains,

how I long for them to be here,

hugging and kissing -

waiting for the rainbow to appear.

I love the quiet of the spring rains,

a sort of hush falls over all

and it feels so overwhelming -

just my love and I and the rain.

Walking in the spring rains,

greeting the new season,

giving us another reason,

for feeling so much love.

Love to walk, love to dance,

love to rejoice with you,

love to kiss -

as the spring rains fall.

Thank you Shauna. Yes, that spring rain scent is one of my favorites too.

You paint a beautiful picture, Rasma. Soft spring rains are so calming. I love the smell in the air as the rain moistens the earth.

      Thank you FlourishAnyway.

Completely understand Bill. I write about romantic spring rains but I too know that soon we will be faced with April rains that give us days of gray skies and plenty of mud. Just nice to look at it differently. Hope spring has found you at last.

That is the nicest part of spring Venkatachari that everything begins anew and the world turns green.

Thank you for the reminder Chris. Glad you enjoyed this. Best of luck to you in St. Louis.

      Thank you Ruby.

I haven't seen much rain all winter here in Colorado Springs, so Bill can send some of his this way.....Especially since I will be heading out to St. Louis in a week for a three-month contract.

Spring rains are wonderful, especially when walking in the woods looking for morel mushrooms. Thanks for the pleasant words and mental images.

**I'm trying to whisper....verse 2 begins with "ft." I had trouble with that. Typo or do I have a lesson to learn today?**

Nice poetry on the spring season, love making, and walking in rains. Spring is a very beautiful season to enjoy the nature's beauty. It has started just now, here, with the fresh leaves coming on mango trees and the cuckooing of the cuckoo bird. We enjoyed a bit of rain also for one hour at late evening on Friday.

Rasma, I am so tired of rain at this point I want to scream. Wettest winter on record here. I see rain and I run for cover...but it was nice to read about a better place. :)
