Watching Flowers in the rain

She watched the flowers in the rain

Her crying eyes spill floods of pain

Weeping sky showered sympathy

In world gone cold with apathy

The rain that makes the garden grow

Keeps secrets only they two know

Her heavy heart yearns to confess

To pay the price for her transgress

Caution flew as passion flared

Lovers bed amongst peony red

Thirst for lust slake in pouring rain

Moment's insanity self disdain

In flower bed a sin took root

Concupiscence fury sowed fruit

On verge of night in rainy mist

Forbidden kiss could not resist

Sodden and wet drenched to the skin

Into the vortex two lovers spin

The flowers in the garden saw

Knew it was against the law

Floods of regret she vents her spleen

The deluge could not wash her clean

Each night at the window she'll go

She sits and watch the flowers grow

A moment in time

Pregnant bud to bloom in May

Waiting to unfurl

Clematis creeping-

Blanket of Soft lavender

Shines in morning haze!

Heads hang low

Coyly they sing the blues

Serenade for bees

Vibrant star is born

Under the cherry tree grows

Much too soon ended

On a hill-

They bloom

Petal by petal

Hi there! Pleased to make your acquaintance. :)

I marked this poem the other day to read later on when time permitted, and I'm glad I came back.

I liked the joviality of the video, juxtaposed against the the regret of the woman in the poetic verse staring at the living memory of her forbidden experience - could have been a scene from a movie, with its bittersweet, melancholic undertones.

      Yours Sincerely,

      Romeo's Quill

Jo! Wow! I can only echo Bill and Faith. Beautiful and exquisite, the poetry and the marvelous flowers. You have been generous both in word and image. I can picture the window, I can picture the garden.

You get huge points for using the word concupiscence so amazingly. Are you trying to win a contest the rest of us don't know about? Just wonderful. :) Sharing. Theresa
