Water, Benevolent Gift of God

Updated on January 19, 2017

The gift of all life, the precious breaths we take,

Would never to exist, except for water's sake.

Covers most of our world, is a blanket so pure,

Giving us hope, making our home's all secure.

Refrain:

Pure water drops, they come falling down,

Rain water's always such a beautiful sound.

Our God's gift of hope, we hear all around,

Lets us know one day we'll be heaven bound.

Our streams and rivers, the lakes and wide seas,

Were created for us all, just to share as we please.

Each drop of pure water, has a use for our needs,

Is home to wild creatures, gives life to our seeds.

Refrain:

Pure water drops they come falling down,

Rainwater's always, such a beautiful sound.

Our God's gift of hope, we hear all around,

Let's us know one day we'll be heaven bound.

Every gift our God is so special and so rare,

The presence of our rain, shows he does care.

Water to replenish and sustain every life here,

On our blue planet where each soul's so dear.

Refrain:

Pure water drops, they come falling down,

Rainwater's always such a beautiful sound.

Our God's gift of hope, we hear all around,

Lets us know one day we'll be heaven bound.

Give thanks to the Lord, for this, his life giving rain,

Please show that we care and its purity to maintain.

No pouring of poisons and bad chemicals, all to mix,

Once our waters have been soiled, so hard then to fix.

Refrain

Pure water drops, they come falling down,

Rainwater's always such a beautiful sound.

Our God's gift of hope, we hear all around,

Lets us know one day we'll be heaven bound.

As Rainwater drops come falling down.

Lets us know one day we'll be heaven bound.

Eric I believe that our water is the gift of life itself and that to pollute and misuse it is an act of the most vile of sins. We must stand together against evil forces in this world to save our water, if not for us, for our future children and their lives. Blessings to you and family on this fine Winter morning. whonu

Whonu I grew up where water is scarce and kind of revered. I have a brother that thinks rivers are direct links to whatever God there is. I like to think that the rain today is the same water I drank 35 years ago from a mountain stream. Or that the water I bath my son in is the same water my mom was baptized in.

Wonderfully reflective poem that reminds me what beats through to my soul.
