This is for those of you who have found true love. I wrote this in 1976.

Ways to Love You

For each day

There is in a year

There is a new way

To love you.

For every grain of sand

There is on the beach

There is a new way to show

I care.

For every step we take

We grow closer.

For every breath of air

I breathe

I exhale a cloud

Of love.

For every word

There is in a book

There are not enough

To express my love

For you.

For, every thought

That enters my mind

Falls deeper in the depths

Of Love.

      Shauna,

      "For every word

      There is in a book

      There are not enough

      To express my love

      For you."

Simply beautiful but powerful as well! Awesome poem Shauna!

Ah, my Fairy Godson, it pleases me for you to be the first to comment. Thank you so much! If I've not told you lately, I'm so proud of your creativity. You've found your voice. Spread your wings and fly my friend!

You scare me, Shauna! I'm trying to figure out how I could show Pam I love her in as many ways as there are grains of sand on the beach now--I'm tellin' ya, for a mere guy, that's a daunting task!

      Voted Up Plus.

You made me laugh, Ghost! You can always tell Pam I penned this poem for you. I retain rights, but what's a little white lie? Go for it!

You can build something from nothing and you've been through the love line. I feel Pam is the final resting place for your heart. Just tell her. Look her in her eyes and make her melt. Hint: kissing her out of the clear blue, while she's performing a domestic act, such as making dinner or doing laundry, works wonders. Surprise her with passion when she least expects it!

I'm thinking you may need to record some of the Olympics??? Teehee.

Could be installed in the "Mortals Book of Life," if there was one. A masterpiece.

Well, Beckie, this was written a long time ago. I was only 19 and had stars in my eyes. I've since been divorced twice so I haven't yet found true love. But I still wear my rose-colored glasses!

Beautifully expressed aspects of love... such tenderness, such devotion and so much closeness in so little words. Shauna, your poetry hypnotises and warms the heart.

What is your real name? (Simba is really, really cool, tho!)

I like it too. Is Jon short for Jonathan? I will continue to call you Simba. You are strong, gentle and inquisitive. Simba fits.

Well my sensational Shauna thank you for caring and for your TLC - and there are so many ways of showing our love in this lifetime with our families and friends and lovers ...... yes I am feeling better today - I think going to work helped me out too - the two hour round trip commute to clear my mind and collect my thoughts - and mingling with some of my work buddies and of course writing a new one there too and then coming home as I often do and posting it online at 4 or 5 in the morning.

Sometimes you have to get away in order to appreciate coming home and I always appreciate your friendship and your lofty status as a writer/poet who always has something to say and your ability to communicate the written in a most sincere and genuine way.

Sending three Canadian hugs to you from Colin and his cat crew Tiffy and Gabriel and posting this page on my FB wall at lake erie time 4:34pm

Epi, I'm glad you're feeling better. Yes, sometimes you just need to get away and clear the ole noggin.

The interest you've taken in my work just blows me away. I don't think you'll ever know how much I truly appreciate you. You are awesome, my friend!
