Flying On The Wings- a lyrical poem

Updated on March 2, 2013

We are flying

On the wings

Of a seagull

Touching the depths

Of the sky.

Finding heaven

Just behind

Each cloud

Floating Away so high.

How far is

The land below us,

But heaven is close

To our hearts

Learning more

About love's

Oh, how this is

Just a start.

How beautiful

And precious

Is the gift

That we can share.

The higher we fly

The more land we see

As long as our Love

Is there.

Soaring high above

The waters,

Never to stop

Or fall down.

We're secure

In the love that was

Given to us,

Within each other

That love is found.

We are flying

On the wings of

A seagull

Touching the

Depths of the sky.

My soul wants to soar.

My heart wants to sing

Of the heavens

We found

So high,

Of the heavens

We found

So high.

This is so beautiful! What a lovely voice you have. It is so true, the love that was given to us we find in each other. Thank you so much.

      Hi Christina,

This is a beautiful and uplifting song. You have such a lovely voice.

      "Finding heaven

      Just behind

      Each cloud"

When I fly I love watching the clouds. I always imagine walking through them and being in heaven.

      God bless

Voted up and away and sharing

Hello Spirit Whisperer, Yes I remembering that I had read that in my teen years, and it is a classic. I want to read it again. This poem was originally written after I had spent some solitude alone on the beach at sunrise.

Another lovely piece of work seems to be reflecting positive changes in your life. I hope I am right. BTW have you ever read Jonathan Livingston Seagull, written by Richard Bach. If you haven't I highly recommend you pop down to the library and check it out. Thank you.
