We Shall Never Go Gently

Updated on February 16, 2017

Older men, the young as well, don't go gently into the night,

Thomas certainly called it right, now a time of all's own plight.

Nay...rage on instead, brandishing bravery, so until first light,

All shall stand, go hand in hand, everyone, til the sun is bright.

Foulmouthed bullies, so boastfully calling, none ever so subdues,

We shall all fight back instead, with loaded words, all of our cues.

More powerful, a concerted group, accomplished goals to imbue,

Overwhelming, the successes to follow, no single foe to try or do.

Brave of hearts, dedicated to the truth, each of us to display,

Marching forth in our battle array, we're soon to win the day.

Bringing better tomorrows, we're set free, happiest days to be.

By boldest accomplishments, today, soon freedoms all to see.

No, not ever, shall we to go, gently, ever so quietly into the night,

Cowards may fall or to turn and run, so scared in their fast flight.

Champions all, those not to back down, to hold on to their ground,

Brave hearts rejoice, lift every voice, echoes in the night, to sound.
