Glad you got that off your chest. Living here in the South, I just want to scream when I hear folks say this is not about race. It's A LOT about race. So, thanks for screaming for me.

I don't care we are different or not. We should treat eachother with respect and dignity. I don't care you're white, black, yellow, pink. We all have the same colour of blood. And you've said it - we all come from Africa. The white KKK motherf&%kers are bleached negroes. The negroes are baken whites. Who cares? Shout it out loud, bro...

A forceful exposition. I would add that the U S of A has been propping up totalitarian regimes that've committed genocide, South America, Southeast Asia. No wonder why we are the most feared force in the world. A force of terror: violence for political aims.

Anyway, Larry, a thought-provoking take. The use of We, instead of Us and Them.

      Adios,

This is powerful writing, Larry! Bravo! If it upsets people, too bad. I think the U.S. needs to be upset, and they need to look within themselves and find the truth of this perfectly-written statement.

Powerful. This election was all about race, gender, fear and hate. Sometimes I just want to explain that hey, I'm not in the loud mouthed minority (yes, I keep reminding myself SHE won the popular vote). We all lost this election. We are more alike than different and it makes me depressed to be where we are now. Thank you for your angry and compelling article.

You really say it like it is, Larry. Spot on! Yes, we all have the same African origins so we should treat each other as brothers and sisters no matter what color or be,if system we follow.

The more I learn, the more I unlearn. Great, in your eyeballs, pick me up. I think I can charge up my cell phone from it. Electricity is sparking off my screen. Maybe it's because I dumped Linux again and Windows is flexing its apps.

Hhhhhmmm the only racism I'm seeing is right here.. Judging.. Do believe these are your words and opinion, along with others here...

Did you ever think that here in this column is where the issue lies..

I am by far ignorant or stupid.. Maybe you need to read the rest of the story...not just tunnel in on one extreme.. There's more to this than just your facts of this one research...yes I agree with your facts..unfortunately there is a helix involved here.. Go take a Xanax and get off your half baked soapbox.. If you want people to hear you, do the full research..

This is what's spreading racism.. Not one person.. He was not in office when this started 8 years ago and has gotten worse.. So who's to blame??? Damn sure not Trump.. Not one person who didn't exist in this situation.. Research bud..research

Velvety Person -- this is creative writing. Maybe you should take a Xanax and remember -- some of us are not limited by "safe-sissy-spaces." Trump -- and I voted for the bugger -- ain't all apple pie and blue jeans. Thing is, we must fight like bloody dogs to keep all points of view in this game. That's the red carpet baby. The velvety floor. Not the smudge of ideas, which you provide.

This is certainly a powerful essay, Larry. I don't even live in the United States, but I'm very worried about the ramifications of the election. You have expressed some of my concerns in a very creative way. Thank you.

I’m not from the USA, but most Britain’s fear Trump, as reflected in a recent opinion poll; so I found this article and comments an interesting read.

Homo sapiens (that’s us) when we left Africa about 80,000 years ago we were all black; the Neanderthals, whom we met and breed with on our migrations across Europe (up to 5% Neanderthals DNA in the average person), were white skinned. So we are all one race in more ways than one; all cousins.

This little creative work lit a fire. Though I've appreciated the responses, I don't feel like I should have to explain myself, but because we live in the era we live in, I'll go ahead and do so, at least a bit.

I'm not white, though my skin is. I'm 8% Cherokee and 2% Apache. My wife is almost entirely Native American, as is her skin and the skin of our beautiful children.

I'm scared about our current ratial climate and the President Elect's endorsement of it. For those of you who think My fears are overdone, well I hope you're right, but I'm afraid things are poised to get very bad.

Ultimately we are all of the same origin. This work emphasizes that. Regardless of your belief system, it's undeniable. Most evidence says we started around Africa and the Middle-East.

I used the ugly verbiage I used to rub that concept in the face of racists. I don't apologize for that. I used the ugliest word I know of, but it was used in the hopes that its context would upset racists. I think that is clear enough to anyone with the ability for abstract thought.

One thing I love about the country where I now reside. It doesn't matter the colour of your skin, or the shape of your eyes, everyone is either 'bro, sis or cuz'

One thing though, not every racist is white!

      Enjoyed it though.

And 'we Bible thumpers' have been telling everyone for years, WE'VE ALL GOT THE SAME PARENTS!
