Money, The Nature of the Beast

Updated on June 2, 2017

The triangle of society, the base, and that most high,

Created by the worst of traits, on human nature's list.

A hunger for money, its corruptness, of all evil to buy,

Rooted in the soul of man, always there, it to persist.

As each well-wisher, those best intentions, all so tries,

The end result of every endeavour, a travesty applies.

No matter the appeal of some, the loudest proposition,

All to crash in flames, no following, wrong, a pretension.

Money earned, that's derived from honest means,

An honorable acquisition is held in highest esteem.

When money becomes paramount, is the only goal,

As an imposter, becomes as polar, opposite its role.

The greatness of nations, countries around the world,

Not based upon their wealth, as each flag is unfurled.

The deciding factor, the strength of people's character.

Not the flash of gold, riches shown or boasts, all hurled.

Money, as it should be viewed, and as its guarantee,

Saved or spent in kind, is the helper of each society.

Not a bet or to be reaped as wheat, some mindlessly,

The payer of debts, all of our needs, this for all to see.

Money, when used appropriately, keeps a country fed,

Applied wisely, all occasions, fears are gone, no dread.

Hospitals are open for healing, and none to do without,

An honest day's work, in payment, that's what it is about.

Awesome. Describes the corruption of money, and how it'll all destroy us in the end when every one reaches the max good it can do and exceeds the expectations.

Good work, friend. You have talent.

A warning call. May Those with ears hear it.

Money is needed, money is earned and at the end everyone has to answer the Master's question " what did you do with MY MONEY"?!

Blessed are those not owned by money.

I can hear Pink Floyd singing "Money" in the background. Powerful message here, my friend. Our nation must wake up to the corruptness that engulfs it. Hopefully soon!

Whonu, the message and sentiment of this poem needs to be read by all, especially those who are responsible for the welfare of our countries and the citizens. It is so important but often forgotten.
