Wedding Fails(Limericks)

Updated on July 6, 2012

"Nightmare Wedding"

Have you ever dreamt of your wedding turning into a flop? For example. maybe the groom overslept, the maid of honor was throwing up, or the photographer had double-booked weddings. If you have had a dream like this before, you probably have categorized it as one of those "worst nightmares".

I will be attmpting to embellish this nightmare concept in the form of Limericks. I hope you can have a good laugh, and I pray that these mishaps never take place in your weddings. If you have had some humiliating events occur at your weddings, I would love for you to share those with us in the comments.

Wedding Humiliation

The groom has showed up very late

His mind was not in a good state

Had stayed up all night

Drinking all in sight

He needs to rehabilitate

The bride's dress seems to no longer fit

All of the bridesmaids want to quit

The rings can't be found

Have looked all around

And everyone has lost their wit

But can you cancel a wedding

Even if you can't find the rings

So music is played

But the bride delayed

For she has tripped above all things

She tries to get up but she can't

So her mother lends her a hand

Not wearing a smile

She walks down the aisle

To then see her hung-over man

All the bride can do now is cry

She just wants to curl up and die

She covets a drink

And runs out to think

Above all why was my man high

As for the wedding it was postponed

A much later date not set in stone

Had to erase the plan

Start all over again

With all having to reap what they've sown

      Mekenzie,

Thanks for commenting and sharing some of your experiences. I know that some of these things happen, but wanted to put in Limerick form and over exaggerate a little :) I am glad you enjoyed them, and thank you for the votes.

This made me laugh Josh but you'd be surprised how many of these things actually happen during the planning and procession of every girls perfect wedding.

My husband has officiated many weddings and we can confirm that most all weddings have their own unique mishaps. Later the couple will most always see the humor of it and it will become a special (in more ways than one) memory that is passed down.

Great Limerick Josh .. enjoyed it immensely. Voted up and Funny!

Ah, 'tis lovely to see the limerick flowing

and all the good humor that your are showing

The bride and the groom better find them a room

Or on their honeymoon they won't be going!

Great limerick Josh. You just do such a good job, the limerick is perfect and the subject hilarious and scary at the same time. So many brides don't sleep on the night before the wedding, thinking of all the things that can go wrong and I have a feeling quite a few grooms show up hung over.

My only experience was embarassing, not tragic...when I got out of the car at the wedding reception, my nice blue garter slipped down my leg to the ground. Rather than admit my legs were too skinny, I stepped out of the garter and kept walking!

Voted this up, funny and awesome 'cause you always do an awesome job.

Josh, very clever limericks! I had something happen at my wedding that was unique. It was held outside and it was very windy that day. The top of the wedding cake blew off. Thankfully, they didn't tell the bride until after the wedding reception!

      Voted up!

I had a crazy bridesmaid that caused me to get no sleep the night before the wedding. Then I forgot my dad as I was walking down the aisle. Fortunately, everything else went great! Thanks for laugh!

We got married at the courthouse. A couple of minutes before the ceremony, I figured I'd head to the little girls room. When I came back, the door was locked. I figured they couldn't start without me, so I sat in the hallway waiting for someone to notice. After a little while, my best friend came looking for me. It was all downhill from there. I laughed the whole way through the vows cuz Mike kept making faces at me. Then we went to Benihana's for dinner and then a hockey game. It ended up being a great night. :)

Too funny, Josh! I'd see it as a sign to not get married. Marriage is NOT a fact of life. But laughter is and you've created that, my friend!

Incredibly funny! If even a few of these things had happened, both the bride and groom should have taken it as a warning sign that maybe they should do a rethink about getting married. Actually, have known a few who wished they had acted upon some forebodings and saved themselves a lot of heartache. Voted Up. GClark

      Good hub, Josh...up and funny.

In '73 I had an outdoor wedding several hundred yards from the main train line through Gettysburg...a rumbling freight train interrupted the wedding for 10 minutes or so.

My brother's photographer got FOUR flat tires on the Boulevard in Philly...fortunately, they were all cops and he got picked up to make it to the wedding on time.

      A wedding's not a wedding w/0ut something going awry! ;)
